i never manage to get 2000 miles out of a tyre

I have a Conti Motion on the back of my Gen 1. It came with the bike and so far I've not had any problems with it. Grip in the dry seems fine and it hasn't given me any heart attacks in the wet. But I'm no track day addict :no

I'm off to France this weekend and will probably do about 1000 miles over the trip so I'll see how it wears.

only had them on a week, very happy, first 30mile trip removed ALL of the chicken strips, felt very planted around the twisties good grip in the wet, just gotta see how long they last

If you want advice on tyres check their own rear before you listen to them, there are so many super sticky sports tyres with sodding great chicken strips some of these so called tyre experts could ride around on wood and they wouldn't notice ! I run 2cts best trade off for mileage and grip. The Michelin men on the tyre edges are usually gone around 300 miles so you can tell they get ridden pretty hard and the rear usually lasts around 3000 miles. Used to be a fan of dunlops but the milage was crap and hate contis.

I've just put Dunlops on mine, it was wearing 2ct's, but the front was shot to the edges, but worn unevenly in the centre, the back was at 50% from edge to edge.
I moved off ct2's because the wet weather grip is not good enough for me, the Dunlops give me a little bit more confidence in the wet.
I don't normally go out in the wet, but the last meet up in Wales was pretty much wet all day the first day and the back was spinning pretty much every where no matter how carefull I was.
The last ct2 on the rear was a 180 and it lasted 1800 miles.
