Cheeky ****. Ivor Cutler is a fundamental part of my upbringing. John Peel was where i heard him first, then bought a few albums. Robert Wyatt does a great Grass cover. Gruts for tea again....

Aldo min... thirs nae many "youngsters" oan here min...

.....jist like G min ah weel mind listenin tae the Peel show secretly in ma bed when ma auld dear thought ah beeded fur the night an bein affy intrigued wi the Ivor Cutler loon...used tae go intae school an tell awe ma pals aboot it next morn but they nivir got it at a....Philistines!

an if it wiznae the Peel show it wiz Radio Luxembourg 208..... fu o ads fur OXY CUTE THEM SPOTS or a Talc fur sweaty ba's or feet or sumfin awe the time..

Yup - used to hit my pit and supposedly be off to kip for the night, but secretly I'd have me little transister radio on under the duvet listening to Peel until the early hours. Undertones Teenage Kicks is the obvious memory, plus The Fall Live at the Witch Trials. Not forgetting Ivor obviously!

It was a very sad day when John Peel died. RIP.

Aye r, i mind radio lux 208 wae david jenson etc, feck i even mind the old grey whistle test wae the whisperin bob! (area code 615, trip in the country). The tube wae paula wearin that painted on pvc body armour.:eek2
But ma fav fae back then wis monkey bbc two 5pm on a friday. The cheeky chimp, pigsy and tribitaka.
