Hi,
this might be a stupid question but i cant find anything on here about Alarms, im assuming my 2014 V4R hasnt got one but not sure where i could fit one as there is no room anywhere under the seats.
Anybody fitted an Alarm to there bikes ?
Many thanks
:thumbup

My two pennths worth is DON'T
Always a pain in the arse and especially troublesome when you are far from home. The discount on your insurance doesn't come anywhere near the cost and people never respond when they go off.
Save your money and invest it in a good chain and ground anchor.
As said just my opinion so feel free to ignore it

+1 for almax chain and heavy duty grd anchor. My t came with an alarm which I never use but do use chain & anchor along with a £25 disc lock that insurance demanded goes on the bike. Didn't recognise the almax chain or heavy duty padlock or ground anchor set into concrete? Go figure???

Alarms are an utter pain in the arse on bikes . I had a spy ball on my dearly departed gixxer 7/11 , nowt but trouble . didn't get any insurance discount as I didn't have the so called professional fitters cert .
In the end I had to cut open the whole of the main loom to get out the alarm wiring .

My advice along with all the above is DONT . good ground anchor , secure garage , good lock chain , dog in the house are a far better option .

Thanks very much guys, sounds good to me.Been out today for a blast, what a bike !! Awesome.
Thanks again.

Is it not better to go for a tracking device rather than a pure alarm. At least you have a chance of finding where the bike is if it's taken rather than no one taking any notice of an alarm going off?

that's what I did

Trip wires hooked tae detonators............not as far fetched as yer might imagine.

A bit difficult if yer machine's on the street.
