About to explode!

that area is prone to damp and water i suppose so it could just be that......maybe it was a tad lose

Least its sorted for now dude :thumbup

And thanks to this you'll be spectating at Brands at the end of next month rather than participating.......

Gis a go mister :p

(I work with Adam, and told him to be honest about what was wrong otherwise I'd sign up and tell you lot)

Unfortunately I don't own an Aprilia (though I'd love an RSV-4), but I do own 2 1000cc twin supersports :)

Damp/Wet was the first thing that crossed my mind but I checked and it was dry. Also I'd been riding in wet from about an hour, stopped for a few minutes at post office to pick up hooks for the paddock stand got back on started up and then literally a couple of minutes later 'pop'. Also when I brought her back from the garage it was pissing down as well. Doesn't stop me feeling like a bit of a eejut though lol.

BB thanks for letting me slide on this one ;) lol

One thing you can check mate.....under the seat..near the tank, is a white connector for the fuel pump....on mine, the wires had got pinched at some point and bare wire was showing through

Luckily i saw it and put some insulating tape round it, just check yours as it could cause a problem should it touch the frame

ha ha ... just gave mine a good clean...using it for work in this weather it gets soooo crappy sooo quickly lol

:angry Bollocks! :angry

So yes it was the 15A fuel pump fuse that caused the bike to pack up the other day however the general consensus of "it just blew" was incorrect. This morning I went to start the bike, it turned over and was about to start then just stopped. I thought I had just let go of the button a little bit too quick but then "EFI" came up on the screen. Quick fuse change and I was on my way.

It's going back to the shop tomorrow and they're going to find out what the root cause is so once I have further info I will post it up here. Wish me luck :)

Sorry for the delay in update but I only got the bike back on Saturday and apart from the battery seems to be a little knackered we've had no blown fuses :)

When they had a look at the bike there was nothing obvious that was causing the problem. However the alarm system was linked into both the fuel pump system and the starter relay. So the alarm has been isolated and since then no fuses have gone pop :)

I'm not too fussed about not having the alarm as in my experience they cause more problems than they're worth.

So for any of you having your fuel pump fuse go on a regular basis, get your alarm checked out.

Cheers mate, me too :lol

Just need to give the dealer a shout and get them to get me a new battery in. I really need the bike to work flawlessly for a long while after the battery is replaced as my confidence has been knocked a little bit. That's probably part to do with the dealer and part the bike but I just want to be able to ride without having "will it pack up today?" in the back of my mind.
