Hi folks, I'm tossing up on a demo 2014 V1000 or the new V1100. After I spend cash on the 2014 adding new seats, screen etc, there's only a few grand diff between them . I'm not into speed but like the dynamics of the bike. I've taken the 1100 for a good spin and it felt great, but then the saving on the 1000 can't be sneezed at either. Any feedback from guys/girls who have moved from one to the other is appreciated. Is the difference that good to warrant $3.5K is my main question. Thanks and regards,
 
my 2 cents,
using all the power on the 1000 is impossible on the road, mine is tuned and its a hand full, makes more power and torque than 1100, unless you want the 1100, buy it, both are ace!
mine was exdemo and has been a cracker, been thrashed as a demo bike, on the dyno made more power than my mates who has followed factory break in, hes is down 10 bhp to mine, my map has been hacked and it has made 17 more hp's at 1000 rpm less@8k just where i want it, 3.5k is a lot, new leathers helmet rsv tail race map and pipe, no brainer to me!!

the seat u get used too .i would go for 2014 and get some bits i.e. mra screen.15 tooth front sprocket and a nice exhaust...nearly 2 yrs had mine .. coming from a fireblade and fazer thou this bike still makes me grin massively ..ur choice but theres my input ..hope it helps

I'm taking the 1000 demo for a 80K ride over assorted terrain tomorrow and will know what I'm doing by tomorrow night. The dealer lets me do a good run, which is great, seeing I almost live next door to the shop. It's more a comfort factor than speed.

Hooray...now the proud owner of a 2014 / 15 demo model in black. I figure I can do a bit to it, so it rides like the new model and save a few quid as well. Expect some questions in the coming weeks please.
 
I took my mates 1000 V4 tuono out on the road the other day, i dont think you need that extra power on the road albeit the torque is nice no doubt on the 1100.

I say save your pennies and spend it on bling if you like the looks of the 1000 V4, its still a super naked awesome bike!

Edit, just read you got one :thumbup seems i got it right though, welcome to the cool gang.
 
Good choice, I love my black V4, more power than i can ever use on the road....I find it really comfy with standard seat strangely!....now get yourself an AR pipe!!
 
Yup I would choose the cheaper 1000 as well then spend the savings on bling for it!!
 
Ive sat on the new 1100 and the seat is much better than mine , gonna cost up a new 1100 seat and get one if its not too expensive ... I don't think its worth me upgrading to the new 1100 ....... oh wait , its because I cant afford it .... silly me !
