Im running 17/42 and can just about manage 3 shifts before I need to top up. Knocking 10miles off the fuel range would be a major pain in the arse. I use motorways to get to work btw
gaz mate, mway riding-- if you are smooth, returns quite good miles per tank. I dont think you will notice much diff in the fuel consumption.

Might as well just on the wagon. Just brought my 15 front. what length chain im i going to need. 108 will do it ok? I know i was told I would need a 110 for the 16/44 combo but its a 15/42 on the 99
std 108 links for yer 15/42 .. the std 108 can be done on 16/44T as Sproker says, but if buying a new chain they come wid 120, so you can break it at 110 for fitting 16/44T either will do the trick.
