My cooling manifold has just snapped spewing coolant everywhere :crazy luckily I was in the town at a standstill so got engine off quickly. Just waiting for mate with trailer to come get me.

Luck though was on way for a fast ride up to hartside.

****! Was yours not on the recall list? Or you not checked. Getting tempted to buy the aluminium one from Italy......

Not good :thumbdown

She be done on a recall though, so no charge :thumbup

I'll have to check the recall like, blamed me for over tightening the jubilee clip on the hose, tempted to up grade to the aluminium one like. I'll get some photos tomorrow when I strip the bike

Be interested to know if it was meant to be a recall, there was bad batch but was resolved.

CBE factory on Facebonk are the people that make the aluminium ones.

Going to give the dealer a call tomorrow get them to check the vin. Be good if it is save me some money and time ha ha. I'll have a look for them cheers.

I'm sure you Didn't tighten any hoses!

What year of bikes was the recall on? Mines an 11 plate bike, got it last year so not sure whether it may have had the new manifold!! Kinda worried now after reading this

Mine is a 12 plate and was born mid June 2012 I. Think and it was covered by the recall.

There is a lot of info on the AF1 forum. I will go and check and see if I can find chassis numbers etc.

Here is the latest update. Drop them an email with your full chassis number.

the bad batch of coolant manifolds was technically never a recall (we demanded it should have been), it is just a technical update. Free parts and labor. Like a recall but the Feds don't control it.

We still check people's VIN for the coolant manifold. Email your full 17 digits to [email protected] and we can check yours. Nothing wrong with a "good batch" plastic manifold.

Had mine checked when I got it' but I still worry about it, but don't really want to fork out for an Ali one.

Called into dealer today. Mine was one of the recalls last owner must of got the letter because I didnt. They had the parts in the shop so bike all back together again :thumbup

Some photos of the old one

But on another note the car exhaust fell off :banghead it's one of those weeks.

Well after all the hassle of breaking down at least it was a free fix :thumbup

As said, a good result indeed but **** that it happenened in the first place

Is the manifold on the right hand side of the bike right next to the frame rail? The bike is sat in the garage and I saw a little coolant fluid there last week on the casing!!! Not looking good me thinks :unhappy I take it its not the best to change either?

It's the part that the green thermostat goes into. Just see it behind the frame in the photo.

It's a pain to get to as you have to remove the airbox and throttle bodies. Mine was a 2012 aprc model had was part of the recall might be worth getting checked just incase. I was lucky could of been a lot worse if it went while riding.
