The Fens.
Lotta talk about sidestands at the mo,so here's my 6p worth.
Recently fitted the U.S sidestand to my T.From the pic,you can see that its a lot more beefyer than the Euro stand.
Euro stand on the left,U.S version on right.
Mine cost £54 inc post from the 'States.Origionally,I had bought just the stand,but when I fitted it to the bike,I soon realised that the bracket was wrong.:eekA quick e-mither to the breaker and the bracket was on its way.
To fit,all I had to do is remove the stand switch.This was a bit of a ******* as the 8mm headed bolt is incredibly tight and threadlocked into the pivot bolt.
Switch removed,I removed the stand and bracket.The rear bolt is threaded into a lug on the engine.The front has a locknut behind the lug.Its in a recess and a bit of a ******* to get at.I used a socket on a wobble bar,...going thru where the exhaust curls round.Bolt head is 13mm,but the nut is a 15mm.Once its away,its a simple job of bolting the new stand in place,.....remembering to refit the switch!:rolleyes
The only slight hassle was the Abba stand.Despite me fitting the stand in the down position,it still fouled the Abba.:banghead Got it off by lifting the back up with my old faithfull paddock stand,..then undoing the Abba.
Anyroadup,the new stand is brilliant.The bike is rock steady and there is no fouling issues with the chain or exhaust.:thumbup
