Home of the greasy chip butty.
Just got back from 4 days riding in the Scottish Highlands on my new (to me) Tuono R 07.

Having stepped off an 02 R1, I was a little concerned that I'd regret it when I watched everyone leave me for dead at the first national speed limit sign, BUT

I absolutely love it, tight and twisty, long fast sweepers, and anything in between seems just made for the grunt of the motor.

Its down a tooth at the front and has some scorpion cans on and really impressed with its abilities throughout the trip.

Its a keeper !

The price of Italian ownership over 1491 miles in 4 days ?

1. The speedo misted up.

2. The dash showed a fault with a right indicator bulb that went off if you tapped the indicator.

3. The mirrors folded in at anything over 100.

4. I had a grin on my face as big as a canyon and can forgive all the little things.

What a refreshing bike after years of sports rockets.

Does anyone have any suggestions for suspension settings for "spirited" road riding with a 15 stoner on board ?

We were up touring in Scotland at the weekend too - its magic isnt it.

Think I may have seen you on your way up there (on our way back)! Were you somewhere between Moffat, Airdrie and Stirling on the Sunday? I saw two blue/white ones in two seperate groups that day - one with panniers and one with a tailpack of some kind. I was on a yellow BMW with my wife on a red Daytona (front two in the pic).

I've never had the mirrors fold in on Tuono and have done (an indicated) 145mph on it!

Re suspension - get an Ohlins shock (preferably with the correct spring) and the forks revalved. I got mine done at Reactive suspension in York - it totally transformed the bike.

Hi. How high up the high land did you go?

Huh... mirrors on my bike were fine at an indicated 255km/h. :)

Congrats, glad you like the bike.

Hi. How high up the high land did you go?

We based ourselves in Inverness and I think the highest we went was towards Unapool and Lochinver.
Took in some fantastic roads around the "Gairloch Loop" and also the 939 through Tomintoul, over Lecht, the Glenshee pass, Pitlochry and Dalwhinnie.

A fantastic trip and the weather was almost kind to us the whole time.

Stoney, that could have been us, there was 2 of us on Tuono's a red and white one and me on the blue and white with a tail pack, amongst Bmw's/V'stroms and gixxer 1000's

Hi Roxy. Looks like you had a good trip and the weather was resonable. There are so many places to go and so much to see and the roads are, well you've seen some that are up here. I reckon that we live in a place on the planet that is second to none, it's a pity that the arses and the poli are so.
