Recently bought an Aprilia RSV mille R from a nice chap in Oxford. She is mechanically sound as a pound but the paintwork, stickers etc are in need of attention. He rode it everyday for 5 years too and from work so as he said, she might not be the prettiest girl around but she sure is mechanically mint as he used her daily....said he had two problems, one was slenoid went once and the wiring rubbed through on frame somewhere...both were done by a garage.

anyway, here are some pics which i'll update as I go through the paint etc....

Will look at photobucket cheers.

Yeah the can is pretty big on these. Funnily enough a chap at work had one, when we were talking he said it was one of the best bikes he'd owned apart from the can on it...pointing to the vending machine behind me he said "its as f****g big as that"!! made me smile. Anyway, the bike did come with an Aprilia racing titanium can....which I tried on it yesterday, very nice indeed.

I've got the titanium exhaust and it brill, if you put it on get the Evo chip put in, you might get one here or possibly eBay, it was a factory supplied chip for that exhaust

chase ed elliot for a chip over on rsvr.net

forza italia is the name behind the chips he'll sort you a decent one for £45

Will she run ok with the standard chip? I'm kinda looking for balance of power, sound and economy....not too fussed at all out power right now.

It'll run no probs with standars chip in, but there is definitely a little to be had from the EVO chip

Anyone know where I can get a hold of new fairing clips for these...the plastic ones with new clamp washers?

As said on rsvnet very nice bike.. interested to see what you do with the paint and decals.

Really struggling on colour choice. Its got serious now as i'm actually having trouble sleeping in the decision. I've nailed it down to a red being there but for the life of me cannot decide between a candy colour, pearl, metallic or flat solid....got a couple litres of candy apple red in my paint shop which is lovely, but I'm stuck as to if its THE red if that makes sense....

She's in her white base coat ready for the design to be laid out now....

time for mass decision making, then mass changes of my mind...

Yeah i like to start in white when the design allows. Shows up all the lines and contours for a good appreciation of the flow of the bike. The tank is a work of art in itself. Hope I do it justice now.

Still in the process of painting right now. Will have updated pictures soon...unfortunately massive relationship problems have ensued and my mind has been elsewhere. Hoopefully the laquer goes on tomorrow and then off to finish with her. Should be a busy day!!!. Wish me luck.

Like that in white
Sorry to pry ,but , is relationship problems a Brighton thing ? ,I'm on several forums ,but if there's a spousal fall out its seems to be usually in Brighton
Mearly an observation ,not a criticism
Get on with it then
Mike

I don't know whetther to be freaked out by that or not mate haha...Don't know if its a Brighton thing per sae, but its happening in Brighton yes. ANyway, its over now, I finished with her tonight and she got really nasty...onwards with the bike so
