lower suspension dog bone link bolt mod

Thought that I would post this (whilst I am on the subject of suspension) as I found it quite handy. The bolt that holds the lower suspension link on that is closest the engine is hard to get out as the exhaust is often in the way. The lower one in the pic is the standard bolt the one at the top is my mod bolt. Basically it just has a spacer on it that is 21mm long or slightly longer and you just put the bolt through from the other side and tighten up the nut, which you can get at without removing the exhaust. The spacer is the same width as the standard spacer that is part of the standard bolt.

Thought that some of you might find it handy. Especially if you are in my position....

Thats an interesting point. I am not sure as it was awhile since I had mine off (been sorn'd for 18 months), but I think I had trouble with mine too. I am not sure how I did it, but will go and check the bike later today to see if it jogs my memory. I think I put all the bolts in the other way when I eventually got them off. Will have a look later how I did it. I do know that a paddock stand that goes in to your swing arm pivot bolt and raises the bike off the ground was handy to have, I do remember that.

Ordered a new suspension linkage from ebay. It is second hand, but going to see how much it will cost to get one made out of high tensile steel along with the two plates so will need to get all the bolts out at some point.

Don't know if anyone would be interested in a maybe a group buy as it would work out cheaper for all of us. You can also get high tensile stainless steel too. That would be good and would be stronger than the alloy one currently on there.
