My mate has just put his 04 tuono in to have the front suspension seals and oil done. The mechanic has called and said the front suspension is off what he and his suppliers think is z1000 from 2006 ish. hes always said his bike was softer than mine. Is there anyway of actually telling if this is the case? i think he said the fork diameter was 51 or 53 mm

probably monday, with out sounding like a complete crayon chewer, what would be the best pics to upload, any angles that would help etc

the legs look like showa, the fork tubes look ohlins looking at the shape, can we have a pic of the adjusters?

is the axle one peice and is there only one front wheel spacer?

The ones on my 04 Tuoldo are black if that helps. Have seen gold forks on another one in a thread somewhere, some reckon that a few got these from the parts bin, maybe a Friday bike

bad pics dude, some one needs a new phone or camera lol

add some preload that will harden it up a bit, replace with thicker oil or replace for harder springs

I had to zoom in on what he sent me. What kind of shots will help. Should he able to take some today

yeah, first thing ive spotted is the lack of preload, id start with
6 lines showing, then try 4 thats the 17mm adjuster on the top of the fork
rebound 1.5-2 out little adjuster on the top of the fork
comp 1 out thats at the bottom of the leg

this should stiffen it for him

forks look like some sort of hybrid looking at the top adjusters, shouldnt really matter as long as the spring is in the right range

the only problem with dialling in the front is it may show the rear up if it does come back and tell me whet is doing!

defo not from a z1000 wrong colour gold!

I'm having thicker fork oil put in when I get it back tomorrow.
I literally have no idea how to adjust anything
I've never really had a problem with the front end, maybe a bit soft but that's about it
