Hi All
Anyone had the "Hot Start" issue with their bikes. It started about 4 weeks back up Newcastle, stopped for fuel on a hot day, paid for fuel, got back on the bike, hit the starter and slow crank like battery was flat, leave a couple of minutes and tried again and it started. Thought this was just a one off as it didn't happen again.
Two weeks ago I was heading for Hull for the ferry to Holland for the MotoGP, very warm day and bike running at around 105 dig through traffic, stopped for fuel and again wouldn't start (que much ribbing from Jap bike mates). Wait for few minutes and started ok. Did it again at the ferry terminal.
On my return I went to Motech in Newcastle where the bike was purchased, as soon as I had pulled up I showed Mark from Motech the fault (it wouldn't start for him so that was perfect).
He plugged in diagnostic and did a couple of checks and said he thought starter motor (while I was there I showed him the headlights full of condensation which he photographed and will raise a warranty claim).
The bike was bought new from them, it has just over 1500 miles on the clock and so far it's been great.
I've read stories on other forums about + and - battery leads breaking down under heat and heavy load and people suggesting upgrade kits but the bike is still under warranty and no way I'm forking out to repair this out of my own pocket.
Cheers
