To those who have factory editions which come with a steering damper fitted... im jealous!
Maybe its just the terrible condition of the roads around here or maybe i am just getting more confident opening her up but tank slappers are getting worse  my wrists hurt but not from the riding...
I have a standard steering damper (red one sachs boge i think) i plan to fit onto my 2003 rsv (old shape)
i got some M6 cap head bolts to do the job but when i looked into doing it i see the main bolt hole (the bolt hole that hold the body of the damper) has a grub screw to hold the bolt tight...
:) picking up my new (well new to me) rsv tomorrow. cant wait :)
Its a totally standard 2003 one (old shape) and i have managed to get a steering damper of ebay from a year 2000 model i plan to fit straight away.
some people may say it does not need one but for the £16.01 i paid for it i may...
I'm gutted to be selling this, but as I suspected my new carbon tank is not giving enough clearance to fit this. Buggrit.:angry
Scotts rotary steering damper -Gold, made by (and also badged Ohlins ), fits in the top yoke, awesome bit of kit that allows you to adjust it whilst on the move...

Hi,
Want to buy a steering damper for my 2007 RSV1000R. Ohlins list a few on their website that have a different stroke/length. SD121 - SD140 etc?
Which do I need?
Thanks
