No doubt theirs been posts like this before but can’t be arsed to search & trawl through page after page on the forum :crazy

As per the title, was just interested to hear what your most memorable, enjoyable & best time on two wheels has been?

I’ve raced motocross bikes for years, done the odd enduro, dabbled with trials, done track days & had a few decent road trips. I’d love to say something like winning my first motocross race at the age of 7 on a Kawasaki KX60 in the British Nationals, completing a 12 hour solo iron man hare & hounds enduro event or getting my knee down on clearways at Brands for the first time was, but for me it’s an easy one.

Battled with Cancer 5 years ago at the age of 24 (soon to be 6 as the big 30 is looming). The thought of getting out of bed some days was *****, let alone throwing my leg over a bike again. Lost all interest & couldn’t muster the energy to do too much, which wasn’t good being my wife had just given birth to our first daughter. Anyway, 6 months or so later on my 25th birthday I rolled the bike (at the time an R6) out put my new leathers on (lost about 5 stone so was a necessary purchase, lol) & headed up to my mum & dads to join in the antics of the annual May Day run to Hastings. Watching my mum proudly wave my dad, friends & I off followed by the 1000’s of people that line the roads from Locksbottom to Hastings (about 50 miles) waving & cheering will stick with me forever.

I’m man enough to say I shed a few tears that day, when no-one was looking obviously. I lost my mum to Cancer on 30th November 2010 & sadly she’ll never be there to wave me off again but I’m sure she’ll be watching down over me as I enjoy the recent Tuono purchase that she pushed me to look for before she left me!

After reading what I’ve just written though, I’d like to think my best ever experience will be the next one :thumbup

Couldn't agree more mate. Everytime the key goes in the ignition I get that great feeling. My missus has given up moaning, infact she never did in the first place so lucky I guess :thumbup

Ooo,...been riding on the road,(legally!),for over 30yrs,so loads of memorable rides.Too many to list here.I think my most memorable ride was at the TT in '94.(I think!)
Mad Sunday evening,on a final lap before the road opens.Got stopped by a nice Police lady near the Gooseneck as there was a crash ahead and the recovery truck was clearing up the mess.I was joined by 2 lads on Gixxers. It was a beautiful evening,so we chilled out chatting and being cheeky to the nice Police lady.:yesEventually her radio crackles into life and we can go on our way.The two Gixxer lads may have been keen, but they were'nt very quick.I had got past them both before the Verandah. As I rounded the final bend, there was a cop car creaping along ahead.I went past him just before Bungalow bridge,...Knee on the deck, then flat out up Hailwoods Rise. The my Duke 851 was absolutely flying, the Termigs were booming, everything was great.Never saw another soul all the way to the Creg.:biggrin
Even managed a bit of a wheelie over the dip past Keppel Gate.
Happy Days.
The mighty 851

TRobbo, nicely put. My story would be similar but with my dad looking over my Yamaha FZ750 and saying how things had changed so much from his last motorcycle. His last before he passed away was a 750/four Honda that I had bought and rebuilt. It was an exact copy of his old bike he sold when he decided to slow down. I learned to ride on it. He took me everywhere when he went out on it. We headed down to the Florida Keys one time and were goin at a good clip. Well I lost my faceshield off my helmet. (old bubble typ that snapped on fore of helmet) He said what happened when we stopped so I told him it flew off at speed. His response was, yeah but you kept telling me to go faster! I did, even after it flew off................guess Ill never slow down. Riding is good for your soul and I believe it keeps us grounded and in touch with who we are. Ill say it again, no matter where your from, what language you speak or what beliefs you have all riders know each other even off our bikes. Instinctively we know each other has truly LIVED. I know that I could fly thye 1500 odd some miles over to your neck of the woods and we'd get along swimmingly. We share something very real and special....................Riding. That said, Im so very glad we have this site to catchup with one another. I ****** LOVE it! Be safe ya'll.

Wilee - spot on mate.

Don't really have a stand-out best time on two wheels tbh, there's been so many (and very few bad ones, though I've had my fair share of crashes and broken bones - always come back for more though!).

WC, cracking. Sounds like my eldest daughter when she's in the car, god help me if I ever get her on the bike!

Its why we ride bikes eh, to escape the pain and go for glory.

Gotta admit to loving the camping weekends with mates. The build up, the planning, the ride there, the setting up with a tinny in me mit, the pish up, the giggling, the whole thing about being in a field full of nobs just like me being a dick falling about pissed. Bulldog and Farmyard were always my favourites but the Bulldogs had its day now. I saw the Damned there a few years ago, right on the front shitfaced and buzzing like a bee coz some old rocker chic gave me some coke, the drink that is with a bit of summat in it, almost surreal. Next day doing the drag strip still bolloxed, fookin mint. Missed the Farmyard last year because of the roundabout/wheel buckle incident but I'll be there this time no danger. The one weekend of the year these days where I totally lose it :yes

It's like we're all coming out of hibernation this time of year eh, come on, LOVE IT.

I can just see you now nobba, sounds sweet, you crazy cat!

Keep em coming boys. Sat in the hospital with the pregnant wife while she has a 3 hour iron drip feed due to a low count which can put baby at risk thanks to a dippy midwife n crap quack that knew 6 weeks ago but forgot to address it until she nearly collapsed earlier in the week!

So yes, I'm bored as not my usual Friday night antics. Oh hang on, with the wife normaly at work till 10 & me sorting the kids for bed it's a night out, lol.

ok, mine would be my first ride with my dad.
he had always had bikes, from lightning clubmans to fzr1000's, and all i ever wanted to do was ride a motorbike but the answer was always no! there too dangerous.
then when i was 19 I took my test without him knowing and passed a direct access course.
I produced my licence and he finally gave in. we went and bought a vfr400 nc24, he rode it home. that afternoon he said come on then get your helmet on, and I followed
him (he was on a gsxr1100) and we went for a ride to my nans.
its not the most exciting story but I was nearly in tears being able to ride with my dad after wanting to all my life. that was 15 years ago and my mum still phones my house
when an ambulance goes past, just to make sure i'm in!!!

Most memorable, hitting a peacock at 70mph and killed it outright on the way to Donnington GP in 06

Most Enjoyable, every trackday 2 dayer at Cadwell with my mates

Best time, Spain Enduro in Malaga last September 12 mates hooning around some insane enduro's on 250 yams.

Had countless good times on bikes like most on here no doubt, but here are a few that stick in my mind:

17th birthday, midnight, fired up the GT185 and rode off into the night with a massive grin on me face - my first proper bike and miles better than the AP50 although my mum didn't think so as she watched me ride away with a concerned look on her face, sorry mum...

Doing a race school at Cadwell on Yamaha TRX850's with my brother and us blitzing everybody else on track, everything just clicked that day and although there are pleeeenty of people faster than me, there were none apart from the instructors that day...

Doing an off-road experience day at North Weald with some mates, never done much off road but god knows why coz it's great fun, DRZ450's, and forearms pumped up like a gorilla's.

Every time we go away for our annual lads bike holiday with me mate Pete (hello mate I know you're lurking!) too many good times to list here but doing the Nurburgring, Spa trackdays, Assen, Alps, Dolomites, Stelvio pass, being crap at hairpins, scary torrential rain, boiling hot days in sweaty leathers and we're doing it all again this year!

"Bloody lovely!" :thumbup

I wish I could have done the same. :yes:thumbup

will u lot stoap it...ah think ahm gonna start greetin... richt waurs ma keys..ahm awa oot fur a tootle

My dad broke his arm riding a vincent, he was in plaster on their wedding photo's and had the cast on for over a year and a permanantly bent arm, the day we went to collect his car and he rode my XS 650 yam with me pillion, about scared me to death but he knew what he was about alright.
A police man with a gun in the middle of the road in Monte Carlo, going the wrong way down a one way street on a GS 1000 without a helmet, cost me 250 Francs, being taken round the TT course as a pillion on a CB900 behind someone who raced in the old formula one class, passengering an outfit at the same place for one lap, **** that!!!! Over the Alps on another GS 1000, Track day at Assen on a 955i triumph with the rat pack guys ( got properly passed by a guy who could ride the wheels off a Tiger)
Two GSXR 750's, one when I was young and supple and the one that I had for years that I sold to buy the Tuoldo that I now own, a Ducati with a decidedly soft crank that let go at the traffic lights and not in mid flight. A Moto Guzzi Le Mans That I dropped on Douglas tram lines in the rain.
The Tuoldo I have to say is one of the best bikes I have ever ridden, it does all I ask and is capable of far more action than I am able give it, I would only swap it for a newer one, but then that would be a lot more money for no real benefit and her in doors would never allow it. I will have this one for a long time yet I think. :thumbup
