Yorkshire Ride-out - August 22nd

The chaps on the Aprilia Forum are arranging a Tuono ride-out in August this year. As a new T owner I've not met any of them, but intend to go along and meet a few follow T owners and have a blast upto Hartside.

Anyone else fancy it?

Where is Hartside exactly?

Edit - Just realised - is that the highest cafe in England, near Penrith? Big biker meeting place, been there, not too far from me, need to check the dates though.
Aw sh*t, just checked and I'm away in the States on holiday that week, bu**er!

Hartside Top/Summit/Cafe between Penrith and Alston (a686 I think) - its a magic road - 50+ bends in about 5 miles. Happy to meet up in Penrith some time if you fancy a blast up to Hartside and down to Alston? Midweek preferred for me!

Nice one. Two hours to Penrith for me I think. I have to do the school run so could be in Penrith for 11.30am? We could blast up to Hartside for lunch, then down to Alston and take it from there? You never know I could blag an overnight off the missus and ride up to see my pal in Carluke after? June's busy for me too (Scotland and Nurburgring trips), but I'm sure I can wangle something.

Hi Stoney,
Sounds like a plan - But what dates are you referring to?
I am back from Italy on the 3rd, working 4th and 5th the June - but could possibly get the afternoon of Friday 5th June off?
No work Sat or Sunday though.
What day are you thinking of an overnighter? Not sure if you mean Friday or Sat?

I cant do that weekend. Thats the weekend of our Scottish trip and we're en-route to Killin (could meet up for a bit of ride en-route as per other thread). Do you have any other days of mid-week during June? If not maybe a Saturday sometime. I do my IAM observing duties most Saturdays so I'll be free once I get my current associate through his test (3 sessions left) and before i start with my second associate in July/August.

I work for myself and have much more control of my time Monday-Friday than I do at weekends (kids etc).

Sorry, my mistake, wasn't sure if you were referring to the same weekend as your Scottish trip.
Tricky to get time off midweek as I work Monday to Friday. Can wangle Friday afternoon's off, so if you want a Friday afternoon / Saturday morning run with an overnighter in Moffat in June - let me know! Probably best towards end of June for me!

3rd July sounds good - if we meet up on the 5th June beforehand we could firm up then!
