Great Prezzies

How much did the starter solenoid set you back in the end?

Tim

Got any pictures of your leathers then mate?

I'm looking for a set ready for next year and am interested to find out what these Swift ones are like.

Where did you get them, how much and are they any good?

Cheers

Isn't that battery too tall for the RSV?

Hope not mate, listed for RSV MILLE 00-01 OR SP 00-.Mine being a 01 should fit.It does give dimensions length 152mm width 88mm and height 147mm,but never checked because it was listed for my year.

Off ebay mate,i had a brill fieldseer one piece ,but didnt use them on blackbird and did the wrong thing in selling them.I am a 48 inch chest so hard to find many that fit me,but found these swift ones 40 mile away which saved £18 postage .They were hardly used and new knee sliders on,the picture did not do them much justice and they are really nice in flesh.
He would not take a cash offer and wonted the auction to run, suited me got them for £61 in the end.Off out for the day,if i am back not too late i will post a picture or it will be sunday. They seem very well made and are 3m lined, not worn them on bike yet weather too ****,lets just hope they fit after.xmas:biggrin:biggrin

Just checked my battery around 130mm heigh, the r model must have a smaller battery ,mine says YTX12BS not YTX14BS.only ordered last night so just emailed to change it,its also £8 cheaper.

YTX14BS is the one you'll find recommended on here to keep the starting tip top and avoid sprag problems mate. I'm running one in my '01 (Bosch) and it fits fine.

will a height of 147mm fit then its 16mm bigger then the one in

Yep, YTX14BS is the one to go for as the YTX12BS is really not up to the job. You just need to add a few spacers to the securing bracket bolt. Make sue you charge the battery overnight on an Optimate battery charger to get full charge out of the battery before putting on the battery on the bike

Legs, don't you think over nite is a bit too much? Usually I see them to recommend 1-2 hours or so depending on amprege used.

If charging on an Optimate then overnight is ideal as it charges then maintains a trickle current.:thumbup

I thought the whole idea of an optimate was that it "optimises" the battery performance. Hence it is the best way to chrge them???

Fox, as Areessmill and Danf correctly say, An Optimate III SP or the new Optimate 4 are battery conditioners and will charge the battery to it's full capicity and maintain it at full charge indefinatley hence why you can simply leave a battery connected to an Optimate.

Cheaper trickle type chargers like some of the Oxford products are not battery conditioners and are not meant to be left connected for long periods
