Owner of a 2007 Tuono bought just last month. 35+ years of riding Japanese bikes with few issues ever. Brother is on his 4th Aprilia, I just wanted to experience the Italian side of life. 20k miles, an absolute hoot to ride, but......
I can ride for a few days, 2-3 hours at a time with no issues, when out of the blue, it simply shuts down. Dash lights on, everything else is a go. Just like I'd hit the kill switch. I roll to a stop, turn off the key, turn it right back on and off I go. A few miles later, same thing again.
Stripped the body work, checked all connections and grounds, even added a dedicate ground strap from the battery to the frame. New battery, charging system checks out at 14.3v at idle. Brown connector fix had been previously done. After all that, two days of trouble-free riding (I was a happy man), then about the 3rd hour into a ride, there she went again. I think I need to learn Italian so I can curse it a language it can understand. The dealer I bought it from couldn't care less. I want to fully immerse myself in the Aprilia experience, but I'm clearly getting frustrated. Any ideas?
