Black IS THE NEW gold........

Wow, cheers gents; many thanks for all the kind replies ! :thumbup

Been out again today on the beast, and I simply cannot believe how good this bike is, and how it can ever be bettered by Aprilia, even though they apparently have with the new T V4 ?

Funny, but even after 3 months back into biking on the Fazer, I`m already leaning over MUCH further on the T, than I ever was on the Fazer........no chicken strips left on the rear tyre, just have to get rid of them on the front now.....:biggrin

The T is honestly in a different league compared to the Fazer (which I`m not knocking, as it IS a good bike), but you can tell that one is an out-and-out sportsbike (minus the fairing), and one is just a watered down compromise of a sportsbike (R1).

I honestly think the other manufacturers missed a trick here, as there must be loads more peeps out there like me; ie: older gits that have always had sportsbikes, still want one, but can`t hack the aches and pains ?

With that in mind, the manufacturers should stop "detuning" (watering down) great sportsbikes, and just do what Aprilia did instead...........change the looks a bit, and stick some higher bars on.............job sorted !

Agree there. I think that was the concept of the streetfighter type thing in the first place. Rip aff the fairing and drill holes in the top yoke, fit Rethals and off yi go.

...it's not always that simple, some sportsbikes rely of the forward rider weight and bodywork for stability....this is why the Tuono v4 was so late (after the rsv4) being launched...Aprilia had a shed load of unexpected work to do to make it work properly..

Amen to that R man. I hate to think what I've spent blinging my T out, and there's more to come. I spend my life on ebay looking for new shiny bits to buy for my bike. (usually while on the booze, dangerous combination...)

Yep. I saw an old school 'fighter just yesterday. Gixxer 11, no fairing, renthals, two tiny spots, ****-off loud stubby exhaust. Lovely. Just lovely.

Cheers Rico, and indeed matey, can see me scouring ebay for some cans, and other stuff, soon enough. That`s ANOTHER good thing about the T, as you can mod the bollox off it if you want, or just keep it standard...........looks the dogs either way !

Welcome to the last bastion of v twin XTC. I realised the other day whilst flicking through AMCM, that it all over for those of us who just love getting onto weapons of choice and getting out there and going head to head with other riders and twisties, using our skills and meld with our machines to leave some questionable stains in our underwear!!! Safety technology is out of control and rampant, even ur basic 250 has ABS nowadays. Don't get me wrong I like the fact the development from the track a flowing through to the consumer and on most bike u can turn it off most of the tech thankfully. The new Tuono looks the **** and I look forward to throwing a leg over it but, with all the tech on it, it just seems that some of the magic will be gone.

Same as mine. All the stickers have peeled off though. I had forgotten what she looked like all minty and new! Pushing 50k km on her now. And she still makes me weak in my knees.
