Whats the worst weather you have ever ridden in?

Here are a few pictures of us testing at Snetterton in 2005..

If you dont like seeing mashed Factory RSVRs then look away now..

And it was always going to happen (wasn't me riding at time):

Am i the only one to say !! why the hell would u be testing in the snow !! :biggrin lol

they're trying out the new skiddo engine and rails.!!
Respect for giving it a go.
I've ridden in plenty of snow conditions tho sometimes I get to the first corner from home..and paddle back again.

Used to ride all year round, when I had no alternative and have faced the snow and black ice 'fun' on the roads on my trusty RD250, but I did tend to end up on my arse a bit too often..Worst weather recently was a nice trip up to Knockhill for BSB in the 'summer', I've never seen rain like it...droplets like golfballs, virtually zero visibility, dicing with the coaches/lorries and trying to see the ridiculous amount of speed cameras on the road...Never again!

Two years ago i took a trip up to scotland on my then "blackbird",set off at night with great weather... 100 miles into the run i freezing fog hailstones and sleet but kept on going till i could take no more. When i pulled up at the travel lodge and looked down at my jacket it was covered in ice :scared, took me a good while to thaw out :pirate.
In the old days on my trusty cb250n i would go to work all year round , even in snow :yes... Not now cos it hurts more wen you drop it, most of all your wallet:bawling.

Done a fair amount of snow riding, not something I like doing by choice, but the worst trip I've ever done has to be coming back from a riding trip in scotland about a year ago, got delayed in skye as my ex decided to have a spill so we stayed in skye an extra night, then on the friday we set off, first of all had to go to inverness so she could get a new lid as hers split in the spill, at 1pm we're still in inverness and I had to be back for work at 9am the saturday morning, so basically I had to ride from one end of the country to the other in one hit, only stopping for fuel, just over 700 miles, things were going ok until I got to manchester then really thick freezing fog came down, the ride from manchester home was done at 30mph max, I could only see about 2 feet in front of, not fun at all :( oh yeah she lived in sheffield at the time so her journey ended alot earlier than mine!!

I used to commute around 45,000 miles a year by bike, all year round.
Did all of the seasons several times over before I got the total arse-ache with it....

Same old route, day in day out....
Just under 200 miles a day - You can't beat an old Honda NTV650 for that kind of work. Had 134,000 miles on the clock when I sold it.:biggrin

What I dont understand is why the RSVR didn't have Wets on at the time.. I cant remember now as it was a few years back. I crashed the GSXR in the background too.. It was the only pre season testing we could get in before our first race and it was the first time riding the bike. 200bhp GSXR 1000 in the snow is a little scary!

I used to ride in the snow on my KTM300 and before that WR400 just for the fun! Just hurt more falling off onto hard frozen ground!

Thrapston "northants"... to dundee 375 miles every 2 weeks for a year on my blackbird :scared.I must be mad :pirate, mad but fun :roll.
Dont think i could do that on the mille but then again the mille aint about long miles its about fun factor riding :pirate.
