wont go into gear !

Can anyone throw any light on the reason why my 2001 RSV MilleR will not go into gear ?
The shift lever engages when held in the up or down position, but to release it means the neutral light returns and it is in neutral !
I have bled the clutch again but no change. It feels like there is plenty of action at the bars but I may be wrong of course....
Anyone have this happen to them....?

Ok, next question...! How far does the motor need breaking down to gain access to the selector forks in the gearbox ?
(I've got a horrible feeling that the poxy lil' low side a few weeks back has transmitted crucial damage to the box through the gear selector shaft. It went down on the left whilst pinned in 2nd on a GP shift set up) :roll

hi everyone im new to this site, we have just had a brand new rsv 1000 engine come in stock unused with engine numbers job lot we have now split the engine everything is for sale is there anyone that can find me the year of engine with the engine numbers thanks dan or ring me 07599991984

You would be better selling it complete mate. Only things that really sell are the heads

Exactly, now you have stripped it it is not worth a lot, even if you put it back together. An untouched completely new engine would have been worth some top dollar

Yeah true we got the engine from a job lot some aprilia garage we wanted to make sure it was a complete engine and would never have sold it complete as it could have been put together wrong or anything if I had seen it running that's different we split aprilia bike only so parts will sell was just trying to find out the year I believe it's a 98-03 engine shame I could not get pics up

If it hasn't got a prefix like RP RG or whatever I'd say and early 98-00 engine
