Looks the b*llocks Garvey mate.....:thumbup

Can't wait till my carbon ones arrive from Russ!! How easy was it to get them lined up bud?? Do you have a template or just use your trusty eyes??!!

Also, how did they go on with the "fins" (on our 99-2000 models)?? did they interfere at all bud??

The ridge bit did get in the way a little but magaged to get over that. I will post up later how I did it.

I mainly did one by eye using the pictures posted form A303 then measured all the holes and drilled the other side. you have to take all the side fairing off including air intakes. make sure you have sonme clearence behind the clocks. dont want to drill into the wire lol.

Oh and the other [problem! the main problem is the bottom of the cowl is more rounded than the 01's. you have to fit the top ones first then when you bolt on the bottom two bolts it pulls together.

Once I get the stickers all removed from the front next year I will buy the carbon ones from Russ. the WD's are top. Hes a top bloke!

Get the measurements etc up later :) just scary drilling your first holes lol

They look great, top job done on them.

That rain this afternoon pi55ed me off so I ripped off all my front number board decals and did this:

01RSVFrontDecal161108.jpg

I'm getting so quick now that I was considering a change in profession. LOL

PS. Forgot to add made them all out of 5 - 7 year vinyl myself.

Cheers Garvey..........that'll be a big help!! Sh*tting myself already about drilling the holes!!

AMB67 and you take the piss out of my Garage lol

I ve never seen such a dirty floor in all my life. If you dropped something there, you wouldnt find it for 2 days. lol

I'm reluctant to do any tidying up in the shed as I plan to extend it over Christmas.

I plan on adding about 4 foot to the side so I can store all my tools and create a nice work bench area away from the bike.

My floor will be painted then too, reckon a nice red colour will look good.

Yeah took me about 15 minutes after everything was marked and taped up and with my drill in hand, then drill be put down, another sip of coffee and a ***.

In the end I thought, well if I **** it up then I have a couple of air vent holes until I can afford another cowling or I could put a sticker over it.

All I did was offer up the WD(Wind deflector) by eye. I noticed that the bottom was going to be a problem as the 99-00 bottoms are more rounded.

Using the pics from A303, I got in how it should be ‘ish!

First hole I drilled was the bottom of the two top ones.
The measurement from the end of the bottom ridge to the hole highlighted below is 1.7cm along. The hole is just on the top of the ridge.

The top hole was a little trickier to measure. From the top ridge I measured from the bottom line in a straight line 1.3cm then dropped it the mark down 0.5cm. this then gave the centre hole.

Made sure this was ok by bolting the ear back on and checking the top mark lines up with the top hole. It did

With both top holes done, I bolted them in place. Make sure you bolt them like you have finished as it helps to pull the WD close to the cowling and helps over cover the ridge.

The two bottom holes I found easy. The gap between the WD and the cowl at the bottom, where the air would go through measured 1.3cm as its lowest point.
Under the cowl where it joins the air intake, the WD should line up along the join line. You know what I mean when you look under it. You will notice that the bolt hole at the front underneath does not sit flush. This is because the 99-00 is more rounded than and not as flat as the 01 model. When you bolt this one on it all pulls together to get a good fit so don’t worry.

Just remember you will need to take of the side fairings and the air intake off to be able to bolt the bottom holes up.

Be long winded, sorry. Hope it helps a little and if you get stuck or don’t understand word I just said then let me know! :thumbup

I reckon sticking a number board on the front of yours would ruin the stealth look.

The decals are pretty easy to do, just buy some vinyl and have a go. That's all I did and look what I managed to do.
