It will... 02 has a strap around it, 99 doesnt, thats the only noticable diference, but they both fit.
The only other difference is a small frame-like affair on the later model standard cans which one assumes was put there to stop plastic-soled boots melting onto the link pipe, and marking it which happened on mine and other early Milles by the looks of it!
