Why is everyone selling up is it the weather? time of year? fancy a change? why is it?

Im not :doug

Although i need some new tyres, a service and MOT in the next couple of months :rant

Considering selling mine so I can get a newer one.

Being without my RSVR would be like moving to a village that doesn't have a Pub, Post Office and Indian Takeaway.

A no go zone!!!!

pmsl at ritch lol.
i understand what its like to have no choice but to sell up,poor buggers.
i said after my yzf,id never ever have a brand new bike or one on finance ever again.
best thing i ever did was get the mille and sell my car to buy her outright, she dont owe me a bean, even if we get ***** weather like recently, shes not breaking the bank.
not worth selling her anyway for what id get for her,i love it.
and once winters here, ill just sorn her and tuck her up,not costing me fook all in the process.
the r1 was costing £300 a month with finance and gap insurance, thats before mot,tax and fuel.was crippling me,and back then,5yrs ago,the cost of living was much less.
really feel for the guys that have reached the terrible decision of selling up,im just glad ill never have to again,as it killed me being bikeless and took fookin ages to have the spare funds to get back into it again.
very proud of the fellas and gals that have to sell in order to provide for there families.
hope theyre all back on 2 wheels very soon.
far to many for sale stating baby/house/wife ect forces very reluctant sale.

mines not currently just tight money - its cs half the time i feel like i'm gonna come off again, could just be tyres, but after all the bother i've had with her i find myself asking is it worth it
then i see her in me shed and think YES

i will keep trying to get her dailed in - in the mean time i someone shows interest and offers me good bucks then she'll have to go

You gotta love old Milleboy, he takes a bit of stick, but fair play to him he can dish it out too :biggrin

Have to total agree with what you said Bigun,

I to would never go down the finance road again. If i aint got the cash, i dont have it. My RSV is paid for, it owes me nothing, and like you said its not worth selling cos its worth nowt :rant. I tax it for 6 months and insurance for a year, thats it other than petrol. It has around 7600 miles on the clock, so it could do with a full service but gonna leave till next year now. What with the weather we are having cant really see me using that much more this year :jack.

I was tempted at the beginning of the year to swap it but it would have meant borrowing cash to pay for it. When i sat down and thought about it i could not justify it. I have a wife and 2 young kids, we are currently either looking to move house/or extend our current one, all of these cost cash.

So why did i need a new bike ? i hardly use the one ive got, and im never gonna us the bike to its full ability, i aint that gooda rider. So i guess alot of it is the pose factor, sure it is nice to have the latest model but there only the latest model until the next on comes along (normally within 6 months). So f@ck it, im sticking with my good old 02 RSV (a silver one, fastest of them all !!! )

everybody goes on about swapping for a newer model:dunno
WHY? . ridden them both and only my opinion before everybody starts! there is no comparison for ME!!!!!! the newer one is to soft for me not as aggressive(dare i say boring for my riding style?) . styling wise they both look great, both brilliant value compared to the japs.
have to wait for the v4 see what that is like?
NEWER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER
JUST WAITING FOR THE HATE MAIL NOW!:doug

Completely agree, before my spill I thought about getting a newer version, the local dealer has a nice one which I test rode, whilst being a better bike, it felt nowhere near as exciting to ride as my 03 mille.
I'm sure I've offended some people with that statement, but remember it's just my opinion.
Also to justify upgrading wasn't an option, when the one I've got can outperform my ability!
Plus I've spent quite a bit on upgrades on mine and I don't feel I've got my money's worth out of them.
As for people selling up, I to think it's just a case of circumstance with the current financial climate, thankfully my bikes are bought and paid for so I owe nobody.
Hopefully the financial crap people are going through won't last for to long.
