Rev's around 5-6 and up. guess should be lower. used to power wheelie and clutch my old zx9 and blade up in second around that. difference being its not a inline four lol.
Going to sort out some new sprockets with 110 chain and see if makes any difference.
Hate not being able to wheelie.....

Try it around 4500 in 2nd, and give that clutch a good clip and don't be shy on the throttle.............and of course, only practice on a private road, ahem :D

If you are clipping around 6000 then it will spin up too quickly and run out of revs. Hit that limiter wall lately? :devious :laugh

Just reading the manual now, thats what that pritty flashing light is then :dowhat lol

:lol indeed the red flashing light is indeed the rev indicator light, which you can set where you want it to be, but it won't alter where the limiter kicks in. In theory it should be used as a warning to approaching the limiter or alternatively as to the revs you like to change gear at.

As everyone has said already, if you are on standard gearing, changing it will bring you into a whole new world of fun :thumbup

Indeed 02 sprockets will fit your bike. Try http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/ as a good source of sprockets and info sir.

What difference would a 16/45 make? Been offered a cheap set with new chain

16/45 is a good combo squire. I think from memory that is the comibination LEGS uses on here on his 03.

Yep i'm on 16/45. Not much difference to 16/44 but it just shortens the wheelbase when using a 110 link chain. Doing this gearing mod is the best thing you can do to a Mille, you'll be mightily impressed i'm sure

Garvey, whatever you do don't fit a cheap chain. These bikes make gollops of torque and it's delivered in such away that chains get a hard life. Fit a Heavy Duty 525 chain from DID or similar. If your chain breaks then the consequences can be huge.

yeah only use Afam, tsubaki, renthal or DID chains(tho I dont doDID cos I have had two snap in the past(diff bikes).
Remeber tho by the time you hit about10k yer chain will be fine but the sprok will be lunching teeth, and when one tooth goes expect most of them within a week or 100 miles.
Last renthal I had lunched 7 teeth in the week it took to book it in. Mind you the chain(afam ) was fekked in 7k this year, but thats cos of 7k miles in the pissing rain including two motogp trips to europe(in the pissing rain).
Chains normally last me 10-12k.
cheers Ck

RK Gold Chain & Vortex sprockets in 16/44T combo here..so far so good...no idea of wear rate as yet..only done 500kms on em, but they certainly make the bike power up well.

On back roads last Sunday, had my 16 yr old on back went round a tight bend pulled her open and found my-self looking skyward, lad thought it was all down to riding skill was it ****!
when he was younger used to use a belt called pillion pal the best thing you can have with a youngster on the back

Tugged hard on mine thinking I was in bloody 2nd last week and it was first, she shot up like anything!

Mine has standard gearing, never mind the clutch, accelerate moderately in 1st, then once getting up speed briskly, whack the last 1/4 of the throttle open at about 5k, i'm sure she'll be up. Used to do this on all previous bikes but higher revs. Don't often go for the big wheelie but I guess clutch at 4 -5k in 2nd she'll be up.
My knees have never forgiven me for keep flipping my AR80 in Jeans about 14 years ago! AGH :jack

I clocked one at 76 MPH with a lil Latina chick in the back. Weight in the back does matter!
I don't like clutch wheelies they scare the **** out of me! Powe wheelies are more predictable

So do I, but its got nothing to do with bike or gearing, more to do with my sh!@ty arse.
