Simple really. How did you come to pick a Tuono ????? What tempted you ??

I bought mine because of the seating position.

And they had a very good write up that ticked all the boxes.

i used to drag race an 04 ZX10r that i used on the road, fookin loved it, took it into my local dealer to have some work done and the gave my a new 08 tuono factory with 300miles on the clock as a ride while my 10 was under the knife in their workshop, within 5miles of riding the tuono i knew i had to have it, OK it wasn't as fast as the 10 but the way it handled was out of this world
a couple of weeks later i had a Tuono Factory sat in MY garage and they had my ZX10r in theirs
never looked back, infact im faster around the local A roads on the Tuono than i was on the 10, gotta be the ohlins

I went to the Scottish Motorcycle Show last year, clocked the Factory and thought "I'll be having one of those !"

Because my ***** *** friend nobbie dearest told me that it was an effin' great ride.

Actually, no. I wanted and RSV-R but after an interlude with a deer and my Buell Lightning, I couldn't take the Super Sport pos. Tried sitting on a Tuono and looked at the fact that it wasn't a watered down, neutered poser bike (read: Monster) and went for the T. I'm a HUGE proselytizer for the T now and will let pretty much any experienced rider go for a test.

I love the V Twin engine and after my wipe out on the SP1, I went hunting for another. I tried the Buell, won't comment on that for our colleagues in Canada, ever again and opted for what has to be the better of the three. Maybe should have gone for a factory but getting too old and lardy to spend the extra cash.

When you can ride yer R to it's limits then you can upgrade to the Factory... I'm still workign on it with Andiamo.

I bought mine because it was dirt cheap and I wanted to try a different twin.
I had a VTR (super chicken) and I still have a few TL's so I am not new to twins.
There is just something about them....... I think It's because they have soul!

.

Price and performance really.

Along with a sit up riding position.

When i was looking for a replacement i wanted a Twin as i prefer twins/singles. I wanted sit up position and the only bikes that ticked the boxes were

Superduke
950sm
Tuono
SV1000
TLS

Out of them, the 2 KTM's were out of the budget. The TLS is **** and the SV1000 i expected to be a little 'dull' and samey. So the Tuono was the obvious choice.

With the Tuono as you can get a 2003 it means you can get a bike for sub £3000.

Needed a bike to slow me down. I was so used to riding sports bikes everywhere at 120 - 150 it was just a matter of time I either got caught, or ended up being attended to by a Shvl type person. Was looking at the FZ1, but called into a garage in Darlo, saw the T, got a test ride, loved it, got a good p/x on the 636, and no looking back. It soooo adictive, and to be honest I can more fun under the ton now than above. QED

Very similar to Weeksy. 160mph + most mornings at 6am on the way home after nightshifts and a few near misses racing my mates round the local A roads made me sit up and think.

I thought a naked would slow me down and the GSXR went in for a Speed Triple. I loved the motor but the rest of the Trumpet fell to bits, so still wanting a naked, that went in for a CB1000R thinking Honda = build quality. After the Triumphs sweet Torquey triple motor the Honda seemed like a sewing machine. A slow sewing machine with very low gearing. I was bored within weeks. Im not a Ducati fan, I ride too much to be on an MV Brutale, even though they look stunning. The FZ1 lacked character and i read loads of bad things about the engine being all top end. I read good things about super dukes but i want something i can carry a bit of luggage on and also hear build quality isnt as good as it should be sooo . . . . i once had a Troy Corser rep Aprillia Mille that was awesome and couldnt get the thought of a Tuono out of my head, so the CB lasted 3 months before it got chopped in for Super Mario.

I saw a black one (T) outside the shop and liked the look and style :yes.
I went in and saw the Factory Tuoldo and thought even better so bought it, the Tuoldo . Same price of a new 07.:yes:yes:yes:yes:thumbup

Had a 996 which i loved.... but started to ride less & less due to aches and pain ! Wanted another twin, but upright, so after lots of looking i bought a second hand T (o7)
Daft thing is, always wanted one, but ruled it out cos of the seat height - realised with the upright riding position that it doesnt matter that i cant touch the floor.
Def a smart move.... its made biking fun again

I was in Spain, lunchtime stopover in Potes up in the Picos Europa for those that have been. At the time I was still on a VFR, my wife Liz had just gone "solo" and was on her Hornet, so I was starting to think I could have a non-pillion friendly bike. Two brits pull in, park up & we start to chat. One is riding a monster, the other is on what I took to be a crashed & fightered mille. He shows me his Tuono, and assures me it's a factory built bike. As we all leave I can't help but think it looks **** loads more fun than the Captain Sensible VFR I am lugging around on.

Back in blighty (June 05) I ring around and eventually get a test ride on a Tuono. I think I rode about 20 miles, through town and out into the countryside. I didn't stop grinning for about 2 days afterwards. I traded the Honda in against a new 05 Tuono R in black, and never looked back. My only regret is that I didn't do a bit more research and buy a Factory the first time around. I must have spent thousands slowly converting the old girl to Factory spec'.

Traded up last week. This time I got the Factory. :thumbup

A few years ago I bought the old style Millie and loved it but financial circumstances meant I had to flog it. Was without a bike until last year when I was diagnosed with lymph node cancer. Had the chemo, beat the motherf**ker and decided lifes too short so bought an 04 RSV1000R. Loved the bike but age had caught up with me and started to feel aches and pains. Anyway, saw my Tuono for sale on fleabay (from a dealer) went for a look, he offered me the same price I paid for it last year as a part ex and i snapped his hand off. Got my 06 T with 1500 miles on the clock for 4,300 and lost nothing on the Ape. Absolutely love the T and think it looks better than the Ape.

After an off where I broke my spine, I couldn't do sports bike position anymore. The tuono was the only factory upright naked that wasn't w\atered down.

The local bike shop let me ride one. It took me a couple of years to actually pull the trigger, but I was hooked!

I had a ride on a lass's one, last year (or year before), and fell in love with it! I had a zx7r at the time and couldn't afford a Tuono so didn't think about buying one.

I had a blast on my mate's Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce and it was then that I decided I had to get a twin (ie, a Tuono), so I sold the 7, got a loan (which the wife was not happy about!) and bought my beautiful Racing :thumbup

My wife's still not happy about the loan, more than a year later :lol

I loved the 2007 Factory Red Lion when it came out and lusted after one ever since, but as with most things I couldn't afford one.
Anyway, last year I decided that the sportsbike riding thing was coming to an end for me, as after about 80 miles I was starting to hurt and not enjoying the ride anymore, so I started looking around at nakeds for the riding position, but still wanted something that was agressive and that I wanted to ride.
Went to the local dealers for a look round, specifically at a Z1000 which is what I was thinking about buying, and they had a few Tuono's in and the price was now within my budget :)
So after a bit of discussion, I mananaged to get back to back test rides on a Tuono R, a Factory and then a Z1000 so as to have a proper comparrison.
If I'm honest, the Z1000 never stood a chance after the first 5 minutes of riding the Tuono, and the factory didn't feel any different o the road test to warrant spending the extra cash on, and as they had the Daytona in stock which was the colour scheme I always loved it had to be done.
Bonus was that after getting a cracking trade in quote, which was the price of the ZX6R when I brought it 2 years previously, I waited about a week whilst trying to convince the other half that it was financially viable, and the dealer had a sale on which knocked £500 off the screen price :)

mainly for looks+the big v-twin motor and just had 2 back ops in last 14 months otherwise i probably would have went for the rsvr(i think)dont think i would now though afterall the tuono deffo handles better than i do:yes
