Got a leaking left fork seal. Got a mate with a workshop where i can take the forks out and leave the bike on the ramp. Just need someone to fit the new seals and oil (gonna try source these twin lipped seals from an 04 gsxr or R1 that I`v been hearing about, as dont fancy doing this often)

Anyone got a recommendations??

Cheers
Steve

MCT in Suffolk and top folks but a bit of a hike for you.

Feck, yeh thats 3 hours from me. Might aswell take em to griff. If I cant find any local I might actually just look into posting them to him. But id rather just drop em off somewhere local :/

keep hearing nothing but good comments about mct

thats where mine will go in the winter

The other folks are Kai's, hed my R1 done by them and they got it nailed first time. There are probably many others around, Colin Leader is another one.

Thanks kiwi. I'll google them when I get a chance see how local they are

Cheers nik, just got a quote from p&h. Not exactly a susp specialist, but I`ll give this guy a bell too then decide ;)

Hi mate

Is Bournemouth too far ?
Race Lab on Bmth airport ind est.
They set my RSV up last year and transformed the bike.......brilliant.
What they dont know about Ohlins aint worth knowing.

oo really? Its abit of a mission, but I know a girl in bournemouth ;) so...

Only thing is I was going to give whoever loose forks to keep cost down :/ and nooooway am I driving to bournemouth!
Must admit do like the idea of a full set up. I susally set up my own bikes, but i`d be interested to see if they could improve on what I have.
Thanks bud, how much they charge you??

Steve Jordan rebuilt my forks when I found the lower cracked. They also fitted a k tech kit to them. My Kawasaki is in there at the moment having the forks serviced, with all new seals, it's running ohlins as well. Quote was £160.00 inc seals and oil.

Hmm P&H was 130-140 inc seals and oil, but that was to loose forks. was yours ride in ride out??

When I took mine to steve jordan they were loose & it was almost the same price 4 years ago, but at least you know they will do a proper job, I wouldn't trust P&H, heard some horror stories about there work

Oh Really?? what we heard about P&H?? they are listed as an ohlins workshop :/

And how much did they charge V-twin??

Few years ago they left the rear wheel nut undone on my mate's blade after a service  & last year they scratched the **** out of my mates brand new 1000RR after a service cos the test rider wore motorcross boots covered in metal :jack

Various reports over the years, i've never used them myself, i find their prices over the top.

I wouldn't say you need an Ohlins specific workshop unless you want your bike fully set up front/rear tailored to your weight etc..

If it's just oil and seals, pop back on and standard set-up then you cant go wrong with REVS 01444 415149, cant recall exact amount i paid but i've always found them reasonable and certainly less than P&H. The owners name is Robert, they work on Jap stuff mainly, i take it you want the Haga doing?

Yes mate, its on the haga, so non radial ohlins jobs. Ok buddy i'll give em a call and have a word. Was looking into having different two lip seals in it as don't wanna be doing it again for awhile!

Scary stuff Nik!

Had my Ohlins rebilut with new seals, oil and set up for the type of riding I do at this guys. £100 all in with a written years guarantee. Not had a problem and coming up to 12 months since he did them. You'd have to rely on posting though with where you are.

They took my bike that was stiff as a board, bouncing me out the seat, sitting to low at the back, stupidly light on the front etc etc
They went through the whole thing, front, back, measuring with me sitting on the bike etc
This service took about an hour, was £99 and it was probably the best £99 I have ever spent on any bike i've ever owned.
Did 2000 miles round the private race tracks (sorry, I mean D roads) of France the following week and the thing handled like a gp bike (but a bit softer)
