Bored so thought we'd do a 'track' thread.

Me,

Donnington pk, 20+ times, Awsome place, excellent facilities, everything you want in a track
Cadwell, 15+, Scarey, tight, twisty, techincal. Great place but takes more balls than some
Oulton ok, 5+, terrific place, has a bit of everything and fast too. Lovely woodland setting and great place.
Snetterton, 5 times, bit dull in some ways with 2 long straigths, lacking in facilities and all round quality
Pembrey, 15+, basic, simple, fast and fun. Terrific hairpin for outbraking. Lovely setting in Wales
Silverstone, 1 time, hated it, long fast and without any features. Great facilites but horrible for bikes
Rockingham, 5 times, small fun, twisty but a bit flat. strange place with all the banking/grandstands
Jerez, 6 days. Awsome place.. awsome setting and a tremendous track with fast fast corners.
Mallory, 30+, i love the place, some hate it. Small tight and basic, but has some fantastic parts to it i think

Can only coment on Oulton Park, but as they say in the trade Absolutely Tuonotastic :thumbup:thumbup

croft ( got me knee down first and last time ) on a honda, great track when its not raining and cadwell park fantastic on the honda again . give it a try

We need a Tuono track day organising for early next year :yes

The other 2,

Cadwell

It's my local track. :yes

Can't really comment on other so here's a bit of info.

A lap.

Accelerate down the start finish straight heading for the RH side of the track as you approach Coppice at the end. Roll off the throttle slightly, possibly drop it a cog and peel of to your left as soon as you can see the kerbing on your left up the hill, turn in anything up to 120mph, depending on your tyres/ground clearance/balls. Keep in to the left as you climb the hill, you will be losing speed as it's steep.

Look for the right hand kerb emerging over the brow for Charlies 1 and keeping as much throttle as you dare go over the blind right hand crest. (There is a lighting pole as a target, but I never use it - I always forget) If your line is good keep on the gas and the left kerb will come to meet you as you get upright (I drop a gear here) now wait for it.

Turn in late on Charlies 2, apexing on the second kerb. If you go early you will run out of track on the exit. Accelerate hard as you dare, it's adverse camber and has a dip just near the exit, perfect highside territory.

Accelerate hard along Park straight and up the rise towards Park Corner, open right hander, big braking area here - racers favourite overtaking spot. It's about 50mph' if you get it right it links into Chris Curve a long sweeping 90+mph sweeper.

On Chris keep into the kerb early on as you build speed allow yourself to drift over to the outside of the track ready to scrub off speed and tip into the tightening right hander that is the entry of the Gooseneck.

Approach the Gooseneck right on the right hand kerb, and as soon as you see the left kerbing throw the front end of the bike down the hill past the kerbing, positive cambered here hard on the gas through the bend and downhill towards Mansfield.

Open left hander, but downhill so effectively adverse camber entry, about 60mph, run wide out of Mansfield aiming for the middle of the track as you enter the right hander for the chicane. Turn in on the brakes releasing them as you flick to the left to exit (or don't if it worries you) to exit on the right hand white line and accelerate down to the entry for the Mountain.

Turn in left and late to apex on the end of the left corner kerbs, flick over to the right - cover the rear brake and head to the right hand side of the track over the crest for an effortless and photogenic wheelie over the mountain in second, use third to keep the wheel on the deck. Dont follow the left side it is still turning over the crest and you could get on the grass.

Pass the clubhouse turn in point for right hander that is the start of Hall bends is just before the track entry point, sweep around the first left hander and into the right, straight line form this apex into the Old Hairpin.

Old Hairpin, slow right hander, take it slowly or wind up on the grass at the exit, keep left down to Barn corner, late apexing right hander - slippery when damp because of the trees.

Get on the gas as early as you can to get good drive down the start finish straight toward Coppice and your next lap.

Stratotech Park... A kart track.

I ******* hate you all. And weeksy the most. Hopefully I'll be able to join Sticka at Phillip Island sometime. Am thinking that if I moved to Scotland though, I could join you pommie lot at some of these sawheet tracks. And I wouldn't hate you anymore, weeksy, if you gave me some tips on my riding...

And pauly, that was truly a work of art. Thanks.

Laguna is my home track now, come down for a track day there. :cheers

Some of the more experienced local racers went last winter to Laguna and they haven't stopped giggling since. I may have to take you up on that offer. I am seeting my sights on Magny Cours and going over to visit the rest of this mangy lot next October. Any spare coin is going towards that at this juncture. If I hit a jackpot though, I'll be on your doorstep!

The last person you want tips from is me... i generally know an instrucotr or two at most trackday companies, so if you get over we'll sort you out mate.

Mallory on a performance riding day. Did it with a couple of my mates and loved it.
Croft is local for me, but to be honest I'm a soft **** and wont use my bike on a track just in case I do a Shvl.
