Hi all
Not sure if I should be here . Just been side swiped by white transit driver ( He did not stop at a give way ) Crushed my ride and broke my ankle in two places , so I got away lightly , very lucky .
Will be purchasinga new bike . But want some input into which please ?.
Looking at the Aprilia RSV1000R or Sorry about this, A Gsxr1000k3 :blush .
Has anybody any polite input on this ?.
I love the looks of both bikes and been over and over the road tests for both but cannot make my mind up.
I need to get a test ride on both but until my ankle heals I am trying to decide . I can get a ride on the Gsxr but not the Aprilia.
Thanks for anything .
Mike

You have to see all the lights on, all my bikes do that in order to saw me that every thing is working fine. Which rsv do you have? Maybe I could take a picture of my friends' dashboard. Also the rsv is a track day bike.

Have you ever ridden a twin before as that is what throws a lot of people

If they have come from an inline4 it's hard to adapt

Obviously we will be biased and say buy the aprilia it will be a case og tracking one down for sale and getting a test ride but in reality a short test ride isn't going to show the aprilia in the best light in my eyes

ive just come from inline 4s ( last bike 08 zx10r , before that 3 x gsxr ) and all i can say is when i owned them it was just another jap bike and now moving to a factory rsv it just is something that appeals to me so much more. you see loads of the jap stuff on a day on the bike but how many aprilias ? ok it might not have the top end of a jap thou but how many times do you do those speeds on an a road ?
i'll just finish with this when i used to park my zx10r in the garage after a day out i used to shut the garage door and walk away i now find my self just unable to walk away from the aprilia straight away. there is really something so much more to them in character / looks

Thanks redratbike . My previous poor lost bike was a 600 single , but have ridden plenty of inline fours but no twins . Saw a Rsv about a year ago in Bewdley and that is what got my interest going . They are beauties and sound good . My brother has a Gsxr1000k3 so that test ride is no problem once I have twisted his arm .

Hi colin
Thanks for the reply , That is how I am feeling about jap bikes . though I still love my brothers Gsxr1000k3 , the Rsv is a real stunner and the quality is fantastic . But which one is hard work .

Sorry guys wrong message my cellphone do whatever it wants. I had many in4s and they were OK, but the rsv is wonderful. It's easier to take advantage of its power, it has better quality than the Japanese and in my opinion it has race dna. However, it is a little bit difficult in traffic jams.

A different clutch slave cylinder and a gearing change helps in traffic

And I did wonder about the message then saw it on the post about dash lights

Hahaha yea you are correct. I have change the clutch slave, my problem is the steering capability. For example the r1 is much easier than the rsv and the zx10 07. However, I love the rsv!
