Just wondering where people go for their tyres:dunno Didn't know if it was worth ordering them mail order (like my wife:devious) and paying £5/10 for fitting or just get the garage to get them in.
I currently have BT014's and have been quoted £270 for a pair Michelin pilot 2ct's fitted although I do feel comfortable on the bridgestones but just need some more longevity on the trips back to see mother along the motorway.
What does everyone else do:dunno:dunno:dunno
Cheers dudes

I know they've recently had a slagging on here for not putting someone's bike back together but for fitting to loose rims I usually call Micheldever and lean on them for their 'best price' - be warned though, it varies depending on who you talk to. Not too far (ish) from you either.

Cheers for that, I'll phone a couple of times and hopefully speak to a couple of different people and see what's what:thumbup

M&P seem to be about the same as the local garage who also include fitting

Internet all the way for me. I haven't got any decent bike tyre dealers near me, just one independant who charges the earth, so I buy my tyres online and get him to fit them to loose wheels for £25.

FWR are the cheapest in London. Currently BT14
at 189£ per pair (only 180/55 rear) free next day delivery. I think London may be a bit too far for your but if you decide to go to their workshop. I have been using them for 3 years and service is spot on. www.fwr.co.uk

We have an Aprilia dealer in East Grinstead and he wont entertain fitting tyres unless he supplies them but he is supplying and fitting a set of Diablo BSB for me this week for £220.00 which I think is a pretty good price.:biggrin

At least I know they are fitted by someone who knows what they are doing and they wont wreck my OZ rims :thumbup

That's what my local tyre fitter said. But after a short conversation he agreed to do it, and has done ever since. Better for him to earn £25 than nothing.

Micheldever did me some Supercorsa BSBs fitted (to loose rims) and balanced, all-in about £204. But another guy I talked to there had quoted me £238!

Just a warning, as I found out the other day, most tire fitters will give you very cheap fitting costs maybe £7 a tire, but only if you buy the tires from them. If you come in with your own tires the cost is more like £40 for the pair.

Ring first. Someone'll do 'em, 'specially for cash.

I have had tyres fitted and punctures repaired by my local Kwik-fit and Hi-Q and a local independant tyre shop. They will only work with loose wheels but are happy to fit tyres that you supply at a fair price. Its the exact same process and machines for fitting car tyres or bike tyres, just they cant balance them for you.
I buy second hand track tyres off ebay, fit them myself and havent had to balance any yet.

Try National Tyres on the internet and fit them yourself. It is alot more simple than you think. I saved quite a few quid on my Vmax tyres and will be changing the RSV tyres soon aswell.

Always worth popping in to your local national Tyres depot. They all have bike equipment and are perfectly happy to accept £20 beer money to mount and balance a pair of loose rims!

Cash works for me!!

Cheers for all the advice guys :thumbup
My local kwik fit won't touch bikes but not sure I want them to after they put 4 tyres on my car Friday for £507 and then reversed my car into a mound of snow and cracked the rear trim :jack anyway :eek:fftopic
Will follow up your links etc when I get back from my skiing holiday ( if I get to go this time, already rearranged after cancelling last one leaving on christmas eve. How can snow and cold weather ruin a skiing holiday? :rant :rant :rant )
Anyway thanks again guys :thumbup
