Where do we stand with Ignition tweaking ... ?

Hi All ...

I've got an '04 with a PCIII. Currently needs switching to MAP2 and a dyno session to get the PCIII where it should be.

However, I have a small amount of experience and fancy playing with the ignition timing slightly. I feel a 3-5 advance might just help give some nice gains, especially as I always run 99 Octane fuel.

I understand there's an 'Ignition Module' for the PCIII's, but they're pretty rare and come in at £300 over here which I cant justify spending just for timing.

As a sideline I started looking at Motty AFR's for auto tuning the fueling which looks fantastic (though he has ceased making them recently, though he's offered me one of his last units), but there again is the same, no ignition tuning, problem.

I'm interested in the Rapid Bike modules which to me, seems like an advanced PC3, with the timing in there as well. For my year, apparently only the RB3 is available. The Race module has auto tune which IMO would cover every base, but I'm still waiting to hear if this can be modified to suit ...

Is there anything else out there that might be able to help?

Or should I just give up the idea of tweaking the timing?

Thanks all.
