Where are all the bloody bikes?

Theres f**k all on ebay and has been for months, Been looking for another enduro bike, want to spend around a thou, but all it seems I can get for that is 1980's rust buckets.

I've bought tons of cheap bikes under a grand, but this year is impossible, i've been offered a ZX7R but I dont fancy another sports bike.

Is it just me or is ebay a little dry this year?

There's nowt on ebay because nothing is selling. Its not just the time of year, the bike industry is in meltdown right now. The used market had been OK (specially with the £ / Euro exchange rates tempting em across the water) but thats dried up.

MCN sellers tend to peg their bikes ludicrously high by comparison with fleabay and autotrader. The one plus is that if you find what you want you can practically name your price.

i'm waiting to see what comes up in the spring. Perhaps there are more winter hacks in use this year due to people not wanting to use car or bus

I think thats a big factor for the shortage of bikes - we had a hell of a lot of bikes snapped up and taken off to eastern europe due to the favourable euro/£ climate that was created. People I think have thought fcuk it if I'm getting nothing for the bike then I'll just keep it and use it or let it rot in the back yard.

I've not seen many bike's out and about this winter, been out myself on the RSV when it's half decent but the pain when you come back to washing all that salt and grit off, no more! Winter's too long without a bike on the road, must be xr, dr, xt on the go somewhere??

I have an old (1985) xl600rmg that I have been thinking about selling. Everything other than the engine is in very good condition. It runs fine tho there is a bit of a rattle and it seems very underpowered. Would be after around 700. Mot and taxed
