I would be very surprised if you had any kind of air based suspension (only some Harley's and other "gentlemens" bikes have them)

I cant for the life of me think what part you are referring too though.

Now is it a 4x2 or a 98 x 48.....................................................................

Here we go

That's the emergency inflate-the- rear-tyre by the side of the road gizmo isn't it!?

Alan has just told me that it is for Nitrogen Filling............. but i knew that already lol

Isn't that one of those shocks of a Vauxhall Carlton Estate?

LOL

Tim, no one knows mate. You sure that's a rear shock you have fitted and not an inflatable dinghy?

LOL

You lot are useless lol

Im gonna find out myself.

ps now wheres that inflatable dolly I bought last year?

So thats how he got across the channel..............................

"You sure that's a rear shock you have fitted and not an inflatable dinghy?"

I've got one of those too - I pumped it full of helium and now it floats over the bumps.
But no, seriously now, I really HAVE got one of those and I assume the shock's got an air chamber. If you find out what to do with it, let me know.

You'll be a **** for 5 mins yeah, but the post will always be on here for all to see in the future....so you'll always be a **** :biggrin

Gents, I have the same rear shock on my 2003 model, its made by Showa! I am going down to HM Racing Friday morning to have my suspension setup by Perry, I will ask him what the hell it is and get back to you all.....smiffy

Don't touch it for sure

The shock is charged with nitrogen because it stabilises and raises the operating temp range of the oil. Without it shocks often overheat and fade because the oil foams when it gets really hot. If you remove it the shock will fade very quickly.

You will know on an Ohlins when it needs recharging cos you will lose the clicks on the rebound adjuster and it will just spin freely.

yeah it is nitorgen. I rebuilt one on my zx7r and as I work on a chmical plant I tired to charge it with nitrogen myself.

It didn't work as I think I tried to put too much in too quick.

Leave well alone!
