I was quite shocked today on my way to the thundersprint, there i was parked up by the side of a very busy main road on my knees messing with my seized on back brake, and in total i managed to count, i think 5 Aprilias, 3 RSV's and 2 Tuono's and not one stopped or even gestured if i could do with any help, but 2 suzuki and 1 Ducati riders did in fact they actually pulled up and had a quick chat, as it happened i soon had it sorted but i just found it a little strange :dunno, i know none of them would be any of you guys, perhaps i am been a little sensitive:biggrin

PS. it dont bother me at all, just thought it strange:thumbup

must be them types that just by a bike cos they think its cool, like the types that never nod,im fookin fed up of noddin and gettin ignored ffs,i expect it from silly harley chopper riders, cos they think theyre silly lumps of metal are the only real bikes.
i can only speak for myself buddy,id have stopped.
and when me and 2 mates went to willingham woods last weekwe pulled over due to 1 of us having cramp in the leg and loads slowed to ask if we were ok.

Hey Carpe

We went to Thundersprint tday, Sprocker, SY_KO, Carl and Windy (and a couple of guys from another forum)

Cant say i saw any breakdowns on our travels otherwise would have stopped.

we were on 3 x RSV's 1 x CBR600f 1 x Triumph Daytona and a GSXR 600.

Dont think you being sensitive mate, wen you are on your own some1 stopping to lend a hand is very welcome. but when there is a grp it can be seen as either a rest stop or they should be ok as its a grp and more people would cause a mess, too many cooks as the saying goes.

Agree with u Bigun, hate tose that dont gief a little nod back, not like its hard to do or anything.

Hope u fix up the rear brake mate :)

sorry to hear about the bike props
if i wood of come across u i wood of stopped
mate

Ive had the same thing about 2 years ago Carpe, ran out of fuel on a B road, about 10 bikes went by and nothing, then an old bloke pulled over in his car to help, he went and got me fuel and then wouldnt take any money for it or his time, he used to be a biker in his younger days and all he wanted to do was get me on my way, thats kindness for ya

is your bike all sorted now mate ? you had back brake trouble in france didnt you ?

Anyway my friend, i think your an over sensitive northern softy :lol:lol:lol

It's a weird one.....I've stopped for people before and got waved away...I know the embarassment of a broken down machine BUT I would like to think that anyone of a 'two-wheeled' persuasion should stop for a fellow user to ensure they're ok! Hope you got sorted in the end.

Thats funny I was out for a ride with a couple of RSV's and this guy was at the side of the road trying to hide under his RSV, bloody rude of him not to wave I thought

Went yesterday or I would have stopped!!Waste of time, only a very amateurish show in a rugby ground.

If we'd have seen you we would have pipped the horn and waved Carpe but we were too busy dodging sheep over Saddleworth Moor :biggrin

What road were you on, it doesn't take much to pull over to ask if peeps need any help :roll

I pm'd you my number so we could meet up at Northwich but don't know if you read it in time :dunno

Sprocker, Thanx for the pm you sent with your moby No. Was on call on Sunday but managed to get to Northwich, parked up outside the memorial hall and started to walk up to the sprint to give you fellas a call when my phone went off with a call out. 15 minutes there then had to go to work :jack
Would have been nice to hook up with a few zone heads........next time.

I'm with the others about people too ignorant to acknowledge when you wave/nod. As stated I can understand it with the Harley/Chopper band, it would ruin their 'well ard' look!

Funnily enough the other week I was out for a blast and stopped in a layby in a wooded area for a pee and a smoke. A car started to slow and pull in to check on me and I realised the 2 women in it were checking I was alright!! I was well impressed 2 woman driving a car making sure I was OK, restored my faith in human nature.

dave, are you sure they wernt trying to look at your winklemate? lol
harley riders dont have a hard image in this country, theyre all boring accountants that grow a measly ginger gaotee and wear a headband trying to copy the yanks and hells herbets lmao.
it so doesnt look right in this country, theres no long straight highways, just lotsa sportsbike corners which they dont have in the usa, theyre a mid life crisis bike in this country.i piss my self at em at matlock with theyre mucky look leather waistcoats and piss pot helmets.

Big Un, they would have had to get bloody close to see that mate!! Is it fair to say you're not fond of Harley riders?

It just tickles me when they have to keep that 'mean' look on their face all the time they're riding, and now I'll be thinking about accountants with goatees I'll be PMSL!!!

dont get me wrong mate, they look pretty cool in their natural habitat, the usa, same as buying american cars, they look daft on our roads lol.
if i lived in the good ole usa,id probably own one for route 66 ect and i love american chopper, but like you say,the brits are copying the americans and playing the role of badboy rebel and imo it looks silly.lol
