What was your first Aprilia?

My first Aprilia was an AF1 50 Replica (Lorris Reggiani - Bol D'or colours) in 1992, it was awesome. 77mph indicated top speed!! I always wanted a bike at 16 and I was working that angle from 12 years old. My Dad said if you want one, you have to pay for it yourself which was music to my ears, so I worked the next 4 years every holiday so I'd be able to afford one. The feeling I got on the first ride out is one of my most memorable moments of my life. I then took the full bike test at 16 so I could discard the L plates and carry a pillion, not many people knew you could do this. You then had to retake the exact same test to ride any bike after 17!!

I followed this with an RS125 Extrema (later rebuilt with a 175 kit) must be one of the sweetest handling bikes of all time, 130mph indicated.

And yesterday I bought my third Aprilia, a Tuono R limited :) Not owned any bikes in between.

Cheers
Nito

A Gen1 tuono in Grey, sold at the end of last year, replaced with a Gen2 factory.

Howdy folks!

My first Aprilia was my very first bike, a 1989 Sintesi that looked just like this one

and now I'm back on Aprilia on a gorgeous Tuono V4R... what a beast!

same as most on here, too old and too tall for sports bikes, bad back & numb arse ect :yes

wanted to trade my kwak er6n for something bigger, but still keep the up right riding style, went looking originally for a speed triple, but could never land on one still for sale, whilst looking i was in CMC Chesterfield when they started a bike up for a customer, couldn't see the bike , only heard it across the show room, but WOW :thumbup took a look and knew i wanted one,

looked at a few, but went for the gen 2 as i liked the rear and twin pipes, over the gen 1,

so the ape i have now is my first, with no intentions of changing, :lol

Mine was a RSV Mille, was bored of the inline 4's fancied something abit different. Never looked back since.

I'd been admiring Aprilias from afar since the 90's but didn't get one until my current Gen2 T, which I've had 1 1/2 yrs now. I'd ridden dual-sports back in the 70s, then got married into an instant family (wife had 2 kids) and couldn't justify the cost until 4 or 5 years ago when I figured I wasn't getting any younger and if I was gonna ride again, I'd best buy something soon. Started in again with a Yamaha vStar 650. Liked the comfort & smoothness (driveshaft), but it was too heavy and couldn't get out of its own way. My nephew had bought a Duc Evo and that got me looking at sports bikes, but like most here, I couldn't handle the ergonomics, so traded the vStar in for an FZ6 (Fazer on your side of the pond). Love the bike, still have it, but was still lusting over the Aprilias. When I found out about the Tuono (same power as RSVR but with more upright riding position), I was sold. I may sell the Yamaha to my great-nephew (he's looking to step up from a Ninja 250) but won't be selling my T. Unless, that is, I win the lottery and can justify buying one of the new Tuono Factory bikes. Hope to test ride one in a couple of weeks at the local EuroMoto Bike Show. I wonder if I can justify two Apes......

My TV4 is my first Ape.

I have had a list of litre sportsbikes and wanted something a bit more upright, but still with a bonkers nature that I can have fun with. :thumbup

Mine was the Falco, loved her to bits, I did too much to her and raced her all over Europe until she blew. I now have the 08 Factory Tuono, what a beast.
