What was your first Aprilia motorcycle?

What's the story behind how and why you ended up deciding on it?

the tuoldo.. i wanted a V twin. I wanted a sit up.... tooo owd fer ead down arse up..

Had 2 1200 bandits then got mesel a firestorm, with the intention of makin it a fighter, saw the prilly..... rest is history...

My first Aprilia is my current one, a 2007 Daytona edition.

My previous "affair" was a SV1000 S, so it isn't my first v-twin. I grew tired of the sporty riding position of the SV and wanted a little more oommph from the engine, so I set myself to trade for a Tuono.

It wasn't easy getting one. Ever since I started looking for Tuonos here in Portugal ( late 2009 ) I've only seen another one for sale. When I was hunting for Tuonos there weren't any available, so I started looking in the UK market. I found one, then I started exchanging emails with the seller, we set a date and I flew to the UK to see the bike in person. Needless to say, I saw her :drool and closed the deal without hesitating ! No regrets whatsoever :thumbup

The missus used to own one of these wee beasties.........

It was pretty quick for a 125,.....you could get 95mph on the clock.
The T is my first 'Prilla.(Wasted too much time on Ducati's!)

The Tuoldo is my first Ape, same as Garry wanted something a bit more comfy tae ride but still have the performance to keep me awake. I think this one will be a keeper as it just keeps getting better

My current Gen 2 is my first Aprilia.

Bought it after reading all the write ups in the mags & because they are a loverly bike to look at.

It was either a T or a Speed Triple.

current bike is my first Aprilia a 2007 Daytona.
always hankered after one but never had the cash, went looking for an upgrade to my last Bandit and found it. the rest is history

Ditto.

my current recently bought gen 2 is my first aprilia .
-- always like the look ,o the gen 2 right from when it was launched . i read all the road tests ,articles and looked at forums etc , and was won over on a chance meeting with some guy in uppingham last summer
i had a 955i speed triple for 6 years previous and thought that was the bee,s knees . still do real nice bike ,which i have still got but sadly it has to go and is for sale .

My first experience was a w plate rs 125 paid £300 .needed front tire ,clutch cable and a reet clean
.the lad went to and from work for 2 year and never washed . Jet wash was blasting the paint of the wheels
Good polish new sticker set made over a grand on it .would love to have a 250 in the garage .great bikes

My first Aprilia was a Dorsoduro 750. Had had a series of sports bikes culminating in a GSXR1000K2 which I found too extreme and frustrating for normal road use. I sold & bought a KTM 625LC4 as I thought it would be ideal for the type of roads that I used but found it slightly lacking in top end and not much use on much more than local travel. Though I loved the riding position & styling I thought if I could get something similar with a bigger engine it would tick the boxes. So that was how I ended up with the Dorsoduro after a while found similar short comings as the KTM, thought if I can get something similar with a bigger engine ditto before, loved the V twin and somehow came across the Tuono, read some reviews & found one at the right price. I paid 3K for a 2005 R with 6K on the clocks, looking at the prices people are asking for them at the moment didn't reralise I'd Had such a bargain.

will get some pics up.

Collecting from DK's can just make ot the KTM in the background

Me T is my first Ape...
Had a 996 for 3 years, loved it but found i was riding it less and less due to the riding position. After 50miles or so id had enough so all the rides i did were short ones. Went into moto strada in shipley to buy some brake pads and drooled over a couple of T's in the showroom. That was it, had to have one, so a week later i scowered the net and found one private with 3,000 miles on it and after a quick blast on it rode it home with a big smile...... untill me back tyre went pop - it finished the journey in the back of a recovery van !!!!
Still, didnt put me off.... sold the duke 3 months later. No regrets - not 1

:)

How`s that saw paw felix, spring is not far away.

The T is my first Ape too. Had a 636 prior to it and was looking at getting an FZ1. Called into White Bros in Darlington with a few mates and 1 of them pointed out the T, and said, this is what you want. So, had a test ride, liked the upright riding position & the grunt was amazing. Did about 50 miles blasting around Croft area went back got what I wanted off the 636, and here we are. That was over 3 yrs ago now, which is normally more than I keep a bike.

Scariest thing about the T.... nothing out there at the mo that i would want to replace it with. actualy, thats a good thing !
Aprilia should have stuck with the V 2, cos deep down thats why most of us are here...maybe ktm beast somewhere down the line ...... who knows. for now and for the forceable future... T rules....

My first, I saw it wanted it and bought it

No , it`s been in the damp shed with the others since before Christmas as I was having a ride on it when I could. Charlie tuono went over it as well to ensure it was OK.
The bedroom with wetroom was an extension to helpwithChristine`s disabilities. It has always been cold and I sometimes wonder if it could have been a factor with her going .So really it`s now an inside garage
The Speed Triple replaced it in the bedroom till today when I went out on it. Superb razzing , light and fast . I need to raise the bars a bit .
Both the "T" and the triple are great bikes , I am lucky to have both.
