After having my rsvr for nearly 2 years and done 2 European trips on it ,assen motogp and nurburgring in 2010 and estoril for moto gp this year and it has never missed a beat for some reason i thought about a change?
So today I went for a test ride on the only other bike in my price range that floats my boat KTM RC8 OMG what a let down
comfy enough but horrible throttle response really snatchy at some stage dangerous delivery not smooth and linear like my ape
gear box straight out of a tractor i think
on the test ride 2 false neutrals and cut out completey between 2nd and 3rd through town
Maybe this was just a wrong un but getting back on the rsvr was just gorgeous
So to conclude
I LOVE MY RSVR and will not be changing :inlove

I thought exactly the same, test rode the RC8 and the RSV4, thought they were okay but got back on Mille and couldn't believe I ever contemplated trading her in, I think i'm gonna be buried with her!!!

Funnily enough, a few weeks ago i also test rode an RC8, very comfy almost supermoto like riding position compared to my01 mille, very light to the point that it felt like a bike that had the engine removed, snatchy throttle, no low down torque to the point i stalled it the first couple of times i tried to pull away, very revvy ( almost il4 ish in its power delivery, not always a bad thing but i prefer the low down torque of a big V twin), was out for 1 1/2 hrs, felt like i had a fast but uninvolving ride, not fun. got back on mine and it felt heavy, but from the moment the twistgrip was moved you could feel the power and torque, weighty but stable in the bends, much more involving and fun in fact i took the long way home to enjoy it more,
Oh well i'll just have to keep mine for a bit longer yet then.

gordy.

lol guys how can you say the ape is heavy my last bike was a thunderace i owned for 4 years and when i purchased my 2000 mille last year i found it very light more like a 600 cc bike and not heavy in any way.as for the RC8 yuk what a ugly bit of **** no way i would even sit my *** on one of them .
