I am looking to invest a bit of money in another bike.

I can't decide if to get a:

1) 2 stroke Suzuki RGV 250
2) Honda NSR 250 early model 2 stroke
3) Honda RVF 400

I have chance of any all in mint condition, but I want this as something to keep for a long time.

My heart is telling me the RGV, for old times sake, but the Head says the RVF. What do you think?

I'd buy the RGV as I very much doubt that it would lose money if not ridden hard and tampered with.

I would agree with you in regards to it reminding me of my youth but I'd be lying. The bike from my youth was an X7 or RD250LC.

God that makes me feel old now.

True, very true!

If I was to find myself with money to burn I think I'd invest in a new RSV4.

Would be so cool to have a machine that looks and sounds so awesome. Sure to be a talking point at ride outs too.

I aint got that much money to spend on a new RSV4, and besides the RSV gives me more than enough of a riding experience.

I just want a small capacity classic, something I won't loose money on.

Gotta love the single sided swingarm!!!!

Know what you mean, all are nice bits of kit but dunno if I could be arsed messing around with a two stroke again.

I remember the aggro they used to cause me and the amount of times I had to push the buggers home cause the plugs crapped themselves.

Nah, I'll stick with my RSV.

Yeah, but I got an RSV!!!!!

Is it 2 stroke fun, or Honda 4 stroke beauty

If you want rarity Dan with the looks, handling and the get up and go, you won't go far wrong with a TZR250SP reverse cylinder. They were the nuts if you can find one :inlove

Here's a couple of little beauties I used to own... Brilliant little bikes and rock solid build and reliable. As you will know if you have owned the RGV, they are a great bike but not so reliable and you have to be on it all the time if you want them to perform. The RGV and RVF are both great bikes, but if you want reliability go with the RVF.....

Hi Dan,

I reckon you should buy a nice clean Aprilia RS250, it will compliment the RSV and its got an RGV engine! Best of both worlds:thumbup Italian styling and Jap reliability........

Chris

I would go with a stroker.:thumbup (that probably sounds gay) but I miss the times I had with those loud screaming fuckers. (probably sounds dodgy too!) Two strokes blow up but are great fun!:biggrin

If they do go pop they are VERY easy to repair though!
2 stroke would be my choice as well. An early RS250 race rep or the RG would be my choice.
