Have a bit of weepage on the forks after only 5200 miles 02 RSV-R with Ohlins, booked in to a suzuki garage who have an Aprilia trained mechanic and are quoting £100 all in to change the seals to the K4 versions. He wasn't aware the K4 seals fitted which has me a bit concerned, does everything else remain the same ie oil weight, air/spring gaps etc??

Have searched the forum and sorry to be repetitive but the more I read the more stoopid I get......... :eek:ops

Seems i'm not the only one confused maybe a suspension sticky for future doofus's like me to read :eatcorn??

Provided the seal is for 34mm legs it will fit. Oil weight/level is potentially the same unless you want to play with the damping. ie your light or heavy and not getting the correct travel.

I ran 5wt Ohlins oil which is a bit lighter than stock. I would recommend Ohlins oil too. Their oil is generally a lot lighter than other makes. You might chuck in a joe blogs 5 wt and it be like Ohlins 10 wt for example.

I had the Suzuki GSXR K4 seals fitted on my 02 R by Griff at Custom and Resto and Race last year after one of my original Ohlins seals started weaping quite badly. The Suzuki ones are double lipped as apposed to the single lipped original Ohlins ones. I had Silkolene 7.5 wt oil put back into replace the old fork oil and on refection the front is a bit too stiff for my liking. Ohlins 5 wt would be my choice in future.
