Are ya sure Mr B...

doesnt look familiar ? and "his" didnt have any writing / stickers / markings on it - but he did say it was the first one so maybe its changed - or maybe the old memory is not as good as it used to be...

:dunno

Aye f, that's the one and it did have a logo on it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it looked like it was etched.

The sound off it wiz tremendous.

Cheers fir that Mr b,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'll remember it as being saucy.

Dogbone !!

Pulled me T apart today to replace the suspension link bearings.....

Front / Engine bolt was a **** to get out - could have done with another pair of hand... but managed to pull on the exhaust and "push" it past as advised by "someone" on here !!! Cheers !!! (gonna be fun getting that back in!)

Anyhow, dogbone bearings pressed out with sockets and a vice - came out easy really - engine bearing was fairly dry but clean, rear one was notchy and full of ****.

Will clean em up later:

Dont fancy knocking the swing arm ones out so gonna scrounge some threaded bar over the weekend and try that first. - No rush as the chuffin bearings havnt turned up yet anyway.....

Have a few marks on the pins, hopefully can salvage those with a bit of fine emery as they are about £12 each - i know, im tite !

Speaking of swingarm, it seems to have a bit of play in there.... but thats gonna have to wait for now... maybe do over winter.

:)

You have got his far, you may as well continue & get the swing arm off.

Especially if you are waiting for new parts.

It was the sprocket end bearing on the swing arm that was almost dry on mine, all the others were OK.

You just need a speccial tool that can be home made to remove the "nut" on the right side to remove it.

I know your Right OT....

But i aint got anything to support it with at the mo (its on a Abba stand through the swing arm pivot) & tbh im not looking forward to taking the zorst pipes off having read a few stories of snapped bolts etc... ( i assume that you need to remove the rear header - or do you remove the front and collector ?)
kinda ironic as removing the zorsts would make putting the rest of it back together a doddle !

How Hum...

After finally getting mine back on the road after the dreadful chain snapping at speed incident, I've decided to have the rear end repainted. My mate works at Dream m#### ne too, so will be getting it done on the cheap :)
Anyway I went for a proper ride out on it last night, went to MFN, which is a biker pub on a Wednesday and chewed the fat with other biker folk....after that I had a run to Ashbourne in Derby and the bike runs sweet ( relief)
Also the change in sprockets and chain has made it much better....1 down and 2 up is highly recommended.

Here's some pics of Ashbourne....why I didn't park the bike up and put it in the picture....I.dont know/proper schoolboy error lol

Why didn't you give me a shout for the extra pair of hands F? :dunno

I'm not far off, been off today.
Fire me a txt if ya need a hand to take the swing arm off. :thumbup

It is a bit of a feck on, but worth it.

I lifted my bike up by shoving a steel tube through the rear peg hangers.

Then one side of the tube on some step ladders and the other end packed up at the right height.

Solid as a wobbly rock.

Yes, the rear exhaust pipe comes throughout the swinger, making it a bit awkward, but all mine came off without any drama.

Loads of copper slip on all bolts, pipe joints etc, for next time.

Cheers ot for the info.... prolly gonna do it over winter so i can plan and take my time...

Pc.. cheers for the offer... will deffo take you up on it when i do it

:)

We can all go round to mr B's then and help him thread his girly pink samco hoses into place !
