well 11am this morning i thought why not clean the new bike

so washed it all off, happy i thought and i could hear a 'TTTTTSSSSSHHHHH' wondered what it was and saw bubbles coming from the petrol tank lid.

So i put the key in and opened the fuel lid, Then WOOOOSSSSHHH in went around a cup full of water that had stuck in the well.

FOOK!!!! so up came the tank, took the fuel lines and injector out! drained the £15quids worth of contaminted fuel (buggar)

thought no i only had it 1 day please dont break.

anyway, new fuel in the bike fired up with no problems and ran like a dream still thank god:doug

now the water had dried streaky so out came polish - here are the pics

what i need to know when the fuel lid is open you can see a raised section which i imagine is the fuel pressure release hole, there is another when you are sat on the bike looking down bottom left of the hatch.....

which is the release for water that may have got down into the well in the gaps?

i did put a screwdriver in it and felt all the mud blocking it. cleaned out but dont dare test lol

they should be the drain holes i believe

they run thru the tank

if you remove the right hand seat panel so u can see the bottom of tank there will be 2 hoses that connect to tank & undertray

thanks cheesy, i did see the pipes, but i think they may be blocked at the top end. going to take the bike to work and put compressed air into the hole to clear it :thumbup

Yeah you have a drainage pipe that runs down to the right handside of the belly pan.
quite important to unblock this hole, its a common problem on the Futura aswell.

do you know where the hole is on the top of the tank?

theres a raised hole a hole left hand side that is sunken.

thanks cheesy.

i think ill blow air through them both in that case. thank you lol. ;)
