So I was cornering hard through a right handed hairpin, had the beast cranked over as far as I could, when she lost grip and slid out from underneath me. :bawling
The good news is I am ok. I had my gear on so only a few minor scrapes.

Now for the bad.

My jacket, gloves, and helmet visor need to be replaced.

As for my baby, this is the really sad part.

I need a new upper fairing, complete right side and lower, tank, rear section with cowl, and right complete clip on with controls, break lever, and master cylinder.

I really want the stock oe color and am willing to pay anything to get her back to original. Do you guys know where I can order these parts as original from the factory?

I will post pics later.

Oh ya, my upper fairing stay got bent too, not too bad though. Is it safe to just try to bend it back a tad?

Thanks for all your assistance.

Ouch, sounds like a bad day out! How far did the bike slide for? Glad to hear you are ok Camo, thats the main thing sir :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup everything else is replaceable, you aren't!

Pretty sure you can't order factory originals anymore, so you'll probably have to track down the pieces you need from ebay or possibly the AF1 forum, and then go for a respray. It is going to be hard to find weather worn exact matches for the rest of the bike. Try a few of the Aprilia dealers too. I've found in the past that dealers get in parts for stock or customers and they don't sell/aren't collected and they are only too keen to part with them.

Best of luck with it and keep us updated :pirate

Sorry to hear that..My worst nightmare..Hope you find the stuff you need..There does seem to be plenty of bits for original shape bikes on ebay..

gutted for ya mate. At least your OK. Looks like its time to **** the credit card and get the bike sorted.

Bet ya feel like sheeeeeiiiiiit

Been there too mate. Least #1 is fine and dandy and the bike can be repaired.

Glad to hear you're OK, sad to hear about your going down. :no Good luck on replacement to original. I love the way mine looks and would keep it as close to original as I could too, even though she is an "old" body style.

glad you are all right, I did the exact same last may on a full carbon mille. Couldnt walk for a week and a grands worth of damage, teach me to get carried away and ride off the front tyre..and they were warm diablo 3.just perhaps a bit worn for our roads.

sorry to hear that mate but as everyone says could have been much worse so get her back on rubber mate

carbon mate iwas on my way to mallory sun with a mate went back roads past donnington.down a country lane came on a sharpish left hander .lean in to coner front went slipped about 6inches so sat her up heart pounding and checked tyre about ready i would say so took it real steady on the way home. corsa 3

youve just had a new back tyre ant ya jeff?
is the front ready too now or are you still after a rear?
take it easy buddy til youve re booted matey!

Thanks for the wishes fellas.
It seems like AF1 will have the parts to put her back to original. Quite pricey but I like the oe look. From my guesses it will prolly cost me about 3k us dollars. OUCH! I wish I had my pirellis on her, but it may have happened either way. Now I know how far I can lean before the grip goes away. Tough lesson learned.

Hi mate, glad yove not nocked yourself about too much! what tires have you got and has she shown any signs of breaking away before?

Sorry to hear about your spill but good you are all in one piece :thumbup Best of luck with the rebuild.

yeah the corsa 3's are good tyres but sometimes I think we all ask for too much grip out of them and the queens highway. I am sticking with track rubber now, esp since I have just had fitted some racetecs 190/55's, makes a huge difference.
cheers Ck

Spot on CK, we all like to push, but road tyres are only so good...the RSV will allow you to ride right off em...need those track tyres as you say and then she sticks like s..t to a blanket. :thumbup

yeah as I found out(poo).
I cant beliive the difference REALLY sticky tires makes its like being on rails and as for hard front braking it sticks like **** to a blanket!
