Weight Loss Time ......No Carbon Though

Well me and bike are about to get up close and personal while i get her naked... Thanks to Rich for my race fairings and soon project track day starts. But what im wondering is while im stripping her down to fit the fairings im going to be looking at parts that i can remove to reduce the weight and also the possible repair bill.

So i thought using all you guys experience what can i lose so when i start i have a good idea what im looking at. Hopefully will get the crash bobbins soon and eventually the frame and swing arm projectors before the fun starts when our summer starts.

Cheers for all your help in advance. Hopefully will meet up with some of you at a few tracks this year, ill be the one at the back.

If it's for track use what about the obvious all lights electrics etc etc

Plastic fuel tank

Change wheel for dare I say it cf ones

Another good thing that all racers do bearing in mind that factories spend millions on performance and weight saving!!!

Go on a diet!! Loose afew pounds it may just be that extra second you are searching for

Airbox switch for a lighter option

Exhaust titanium maybe

Fibreglass fairings

And just enough fuel for each race/session

And a massive set of balls and give it some!!!

Thats just my opinion but am sure someone with more experience will be along soon

As above plus a couple of others ... depends if its for road use or purely track?

Big savings can be had on the standard exhaust system

Race batteries can save up to 3kg over standard ones and £/LB are great value !

and Wheels

They're, in my opinion, the best weight saving you can get without going silly

always makes me laugh, saw a desmosedici pull up one day and a big 25+ stone guy gets off. i just thought what a waste of ducatis time and money making it super light then throwing a huge guy like that on it haha

i would second the race battery as the biggest weight loss, followed by Ti exhaust (full), wheels too and A nice alu front wheel spindle.
That little lot should be good for 12 kgs or so

are these easy to get hold of or custom made?

i recently swapped to OZ wstandard brembo's and noticed the front wants lift more due to the reduced weight

mate, I had one on my 02 mille, 65 euros from ducati-kaemna.de
its mucho lighter than the heavier original one, you will be headbutting the sky lol
