the front ohlins forks are weeping so im assuming the fork seals are shot, does anyone know somebody reputable around the leeds area to take the bike to,dont fancy removing the forks myself, only place i have used so far is m***strada at shipley, the work seemed ok but they still forgot to replace a couple of fairing bolts on re-assembly and left my gleaming machine outside in the bad weather and didnt even re clean it.. t***s
Have you got them set-up right m8, ie is it bottoming out under heavy braking as this will cause oil to show as it hits the bottom,

im comin to shipley on tuesday to drop two bikes off , i can collect it and return it to you if that helps when i collect em again!
ohlins can weep slightly if theyve not been used for a while, thats a common one.

Hi guys, cheers for the replies ,its not bottoming out under braking and it has been stood since oct, i took it for a quick ride last weekend when i noticed oil on both forks, ive had it suggested it could be dirt trapped in the seals?

I have the same problem on my ohlins, they weep slightly. I don't use the bike over the winter months so was planning to get them sorted. I have been told that the seals from GSXR fit, they are a slightly tighter fit but obviously last a lot longer than the ohlins if you don't use your bike daily/weekly?
Is this true, does anyone have any experience of comparing genuine ohlins seals to the GSXR seals? Also if you have had your seals sorted how much does it cost and who did it?

I am running the GSXR seals in my 56 plate RSVR, had them in now for 12 months no probs, did them myself, much easier than i thought it would be, i have the ohlins fork cap tool if you consider doing them yourself.

you can use fzr1000 seals they were used at the time yamaha owned ohlins ,had them in mine been spot on
