Not sure if this helps from a warranty point of view. I work for dealership of a German manufacturer (I know says a lot doesn't it ;-)), if a bike is experiencing heating issues and an aftermarket radiator protectors have been fitted, it can effect warranty. Plus we are not allowed to fit aftermarket radiator / oil cooler protectors to any new bike that have been purchased, down to customer to fit.
If you do fit them, regular removal for cleaning is great idea, as amount of muck that builds up is surprising!! Which causes an issue on another model ;-)
