Valve timming

Hello all.

my bike is at 12k and ive been told the valve timing needs to be done, is this something I can do myself or can anyone recommend someone in south yorkshire who will complete the job competently. Is there anything else I should be doing too.

if you go by the book you also need to:
change all brake fluid
change coolant
change plugs
adjust head bearings
etc etc etc

do you think the valves need doing though mate, if so do you know anywhere in yorkshire!

It's not the valve timing, it's a valve clearance check and is shown in the service schedule.
Do they need doing? well mine were done at 18K and were within tolerance, it's not that big a job to be honest
but I don't know anyone in South Yorkshire, mine went to Aprilia Performance in Tamworth, a nice day out for you.

As it happens Griff (Aprilia Performance from tamworth) will be carrying out work in catterick onthe 25th October if thats any use to you...

captain slow , presumably when you state you are in sth yorks you mean sheff/ Rotherham area ? . as I was born and bred in Rotherham , and I used to live near tamworth .
a trip to griffs aprilia performance in tamworth would be you best bet for servicing . its a trip of about 85 miles -- m1 /a38 ish piece of piss .done the trip dozens of times .

Cheers Hilift, i'm in donny. Griffs at Tamworth seems to be the place to go as mentioned by you and many others. I'll have a mosey over there 1 day soon.
