In what will be his first visit to the Isle of Man, six-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi will do an exhibition lap at the start of this year's IoM TT. Rossi will ride a 2009 Yamaha R1 alongside multi-time motorcycle GP racing world champion, Giacomo Agostini. Don’t expect any hot laps though. The pair will be parading around the course behind a safety car, and followed by a crew of as many as eight race marshals. A team of PR reps will be on hand to freak out in case Rossi crashes on the world’s most dangerous road course, and unable to compete in the following weekend’s GP race in Barcelona.

When asked about what he thought of the Isle of Man TT, Rossi responded:
“I am fascinated by all sorts of motorsport and the Isle of Man is a destination and a race I have wanted to experience for a long time. The*MotoGP*schedule is very busy around this time of year, but this year the TT has moved dates a little and there is a week gap between Mugello and Catalunya, so now at last we have the opportunity.”
Rossi, of course, doesn’t hold back on his expressions when talking about exciting things, and finished his commentary with MCN by saying, “On TV it looks ******* crazy, so for real it must look incredible.” We’ve caught ourselves saying the very same thing about both Rossi and the Isle of Man TT.
