The story starts with coming home from a 2000mile trip across Germany whe the bike was brilliant and then to a trackday at snetterton where it promptly shat itsellf:banghead technically it dropped the exhaust valve on the front cylinder the bike had a full aprilia SH and had covered 9500k the valve snapped 20mm below the collet groove twatting :bangheadthe piston so needing A full strip and rebuild as the bike was 20 days out of warranty the best I could get from aprilia was parts only leaving me with a :drool:bawlingMassive bill and a untrustworthy ped! I ended up thinking well I was loving the bike before it popped so it's either a huge bill and a bike I can't trust or a slightly larger bill and a new bike:thumbup so I said bolocks and traded it in pick the new one up Tuesday and hopefully this will be more of a Tuono than the last one which was more like Ono.
I'm not into forum ******** spreading this was just my experience and I don't want to put anyone off these bikes as there good enough for me to buy another even after getting bitten. The dealer I spoke to said he had sold 30+ rsv4's &v4r's and had 1 engine failure and two heads, plus my valve. That's 10% and all bar mine were done under warranty:no
The only thing I can say about my particular engine is that it was noisy pretty much it's whole life almost like a dry clutch rattle at times I never ran it low on oil and it always used abit roughly 750ml per 1000 miles if used hard.
The bike was pulling like a train as normal and just at the end of snetterton pit straight either as I rolled off to enter or a split second before it missed and started the rattle of dooooom! I whipped the clutch in and that was that :banghead:bawlingI've got it on go pro and I don't over rev it up or Down And it's only the 3rd lap of the first session so fook knows to be honest!
Anyway onwards and upwards so roll on Ono mk2!!!!!
