V4R side stand issues

Hi, looking at my bike in the garage the other night as you do, and realised that the bike stands very upright and wouldn't take much to knock it over, I.e. a gust of wind if the bike wasn't parked right, now I've seen a few posts about the side stand not quite being up to spec and just wondered what side stands off what bikes are a straight swop?
I've read a post that says the 06/07 blade one is a straight swop. Any others fit?

You can buy the USA V4 side stand which is a different spec, i.e more bend, I think the blade mod was for older Tuono models not sure if that fits? however you could just take it to an engineering shop and get them to cut off/re weld the oem, can of spray paint and job done.

Superb write up Rizla, USA spec one looks far better and the bike sits a lot better, pity the UK one is a cast job or I'd try an alter it, will have a look online to see if I can source a US spec one or might even remove my own one and fabricate something up, was the US one longer overall or about the same?

Roughly the same length,but as you can see it kicks out a third of the way down to make it much more stable.

I picked mine up from ebay.com.

Search for Kickstand.

Or if you want to go new, you should be able to order direct from your nearest Ape dealer. just make sure you specify the USA spec.

A worthy investment mate.

A lot cheaper than new levers, indicators, side panel and a nose cone.

Yeah, that's what I figured mate, I'm doing a week in europe later in the year and would hate to come out of a hotel and find it lying on the floor
