Hi all, has anyone changed their size of rear down from the 190 to a 180 section?
I did it a long time ago on a r1 and it turned in alot quicker and felt much better.
My back tyre is now shot so just looking for any feedback before I buy a new set.
Cheers guys

Lots have done it on the V2's and as you say they turn in quicker and feel generally easy to roll into the bends.

I would assume the same would apply to the V4.

When you look at the old racers until recent times, they all had skinny tyres on the back.

IMHO, wide tyres are mainly for show.

I 've run 190's and don't find it a problem turning in.

For the road 180 is fine but dont forget its a 6 inch rim so any 180 tyre you put on will be flattened out very slightly (most 180 wheels are 5.5 inches).

In the manual it states you can run a 180, I have only run 190's 195's and 200's, but my bike is just for track, fatter tyres as previously stated give better side grip.

190 all the way for me.I'm a slow in,fast out kinda guy these days,so it suits me.
At the moment I'm running a 190/55.Its a good compromise between the 180 and 190.Dont think I'll ever go back to 190/50.

Ahh, am I right in saying a 190 55 instead of a 50 will give a bigger curve on the tyre hence making it turn quicker?
This is an option ive been thinking about?
